Learnt New Things Today On Splinterlands
Been learning a lot and gathering a lot of experience on Hive, but the lesson I learnt today from splinterlands was mind blowing. Initially when I wanted to join the splinterlands, I knew quite alright it was a hive blockchain crypto gaming platform, but I didn’t know I had access to the platform with my hive log in. Naive me created a new hive account @readthisplease6 to play the game. I wondered for weeks, because I saw a lot of people’s splinterlands name being the same as their hive’s name. I was wondering what I did wrong because when I wanted to select my @readthisplease name as my splinterlands name I was told the name was already in use so I selected @readthisplease6 as my new name. So if you are a newbie interested in playing splinterlands, don’t create a new account like me, log in with your current hive username and posting key.
I have been using safari browser to play splinterlands and the experience has been very bad. I was neglected to accessing some features until @pain25 suggested I switch to desktop on my mobile site. I searched for the desktop feature but couldn’t find it, so I decided to use the brave browser. The brave browser gave me the desktop experience and I love it. While using splinterlands on the brave browser I saw a lot of features I couldn’t see using the safari feature. I went on the discord because using the brave desktop browser has given me a lot of new experience right now and I was overwhelmed with lots of information. On the discord chat I was told splinterlands has an app. I downloaded the app, playing the game through the app makes it way smoother to enjoy.
Through the splinterlands browser I learnt how to rent cards out or sell it. I will show you how to rent or sell your card.
Click on cards, it will take you to the playable cards arena
Change the playable(the red thingy there) there to owned just like this:
You will see cards you own.
You can click on any card you will like to rent or sell. You will be taken to here:
Click on the check box Down there:
You will notice some green indicator menu showing, click on the red circled icon, it’s the market icon.
On the market icon you have the option of either selling or renting your card.
Go to the rent option and rent your card. Input the amount you want it to be rented per day.
I still don’t understand the logic behind combining your cards. I was told it will increase the value of your cards. If you have informations regarding that, I don’t mind learning please.

If you want to combine your cards, you have to combine the same cards...for example, you have to combine two..or more Phantasms, you can't combine different cards.
Funny story with the name, never actually thought about changing the name....But good that you bring it up for new players!

Combining your cards is leveling-up. When your card gets to the next level by combining cards (that would be 5 BCX for the Goblin Shaman as seen in the "for sale" category, but for other monsters it could be less), the card gains a point in one of the battle-relevant categories (health, speed, shield, attack or another skill).

You're welcome. the actual amount of BCX per monster is found in the stats category.
And no combined cards get lost, even if you don't have the actual numbers of cards to level up completely. 4 out of 5 for a level 1 monster will show as 4 BCX and the card gets a green experience bar, until the needed fifth card is added (combined with the 4 bcx card).
