Starknet Learning The Hardway

Today has been one of the funniest and exciting no days of my life because today I saw one of my wishes come true. One of my friends sent me a picture laughing that the starknet moderators are begging the community. I thought it was a joke or a made up content by someone so I went to twitter to check, turns out that the starknet dev is actually begging the community, don’t worry I will tell you how he got here.

Twitter
Starknet is a layer 2 ecosystem on the Ethereum chain, they were supposed to be different because they had their own wallet, you don’t use the regular MetaMask to access it and you can’t use one seed phrase to access different wallet apps, they were only 2 major wallet apps the Argent X and Braavos wallet app. For the first time I saw something different, this got me excited so I decided to invest in starknet by interacting in 2022. We all know that we are in the airdrop season where lots of projects are using airdrops as a means to onboard new people into crypto.

But for some the starknet devs thought they were smarter, they thought the community didn’t matter and could be taken for granted, one of the ways to appreciate a community is by rewarding because this way, the community know they are benefiting from the platform and utilise the platform better. Devs make money from the community’s daily interaction from gas fees, if you are a dev and have a banger project but neglect the community, no one will care enough to use it. The starknet devs are here on twitter begging their community to come and interact with their project and they are sorry for neglecting their community.

Rumour has it that they are only 8 people interacting on the blockchain, compared to hundreds of thousands of people interacting and spending their money. When starkness launched, they only gave airdrops to the developers and content creators who helped promote their project, not the daily users who helped contribute in the growth of the blockchain. This made the community angry so they left. Now the dev is here shamelessly begging. One again no airdrop, no community. This just proves that airdrop doesn’t hurt the community but strengthens it most times.

I hope they learn this crucial lesson and also find a way to make it right with the community. A project can't go very far if the community isn't present or is neglected.
