Tree Spirit

This is a true story of one of my unexpected experiences with the human-faced tree messenger and the final consequences.

The difference in this one to others I have seen is this tree spirit was able to shapeshift to look totally human.

I was reminded of this mysterious encounter after replying to a post by @kaminchan about an centuries old banyan tree in Bangkok where the local folks leave gifts for the tree spirits. In his reply to me, Kaminchan thought I should do a post on my sighting of a tree spirit.

An excerpt from his post:

”Since people believe that angels, tree spirits and other high level guardians may be living in the old banyan tree, they could perhaps ask them to help with their problems or grant them blessings.”

Different cultures have many different ways of honoring the forest and the magical beings residing there by leaving small gifts, hugging, chanting, dancing and talking and meditating under a tree.

There is a belief our spirit goes into trees when we die. The ancient Celts believed they came from trees. I guess that’s the same belief in reverse. Perhaps this belief is embedded in our DNA as it is becoming popular to plant a tree in memory of a loved one.

It’s true there are many things between heaven and earth we do not understand or want to acknowledge.

As humans only so much can be seen with the naked eye but sometimes we are granted glimpses into other dimensions. Many of theses glimpses can come through dreams, intuitions and sometimes a shadow seen briefly at the corner of the eye.

The druids of olden days and our native Indian people had great respect and honor for trees. They knew the earth was sacred and referred to it as the Mother Goddess. They talked to the tree spirits and even asked permission to walk under them.

I was not afraid this nature tree spirit was some evil boogie man. I only wanted to understand why the spirit materialized to me in a tree along my friend’s driveway.

I had my phone with me and took photos.

My first sighting of the nature tree spirit was in June of 2019. I was leaving my friend’s driveway and my eyes were drawn to the first of the birch trees that lined the left side of the driveway.

A tiny face was looking out of the tree.I stopped to take a photo and thought it was great my friend had a nature spirit guardian right there along the driveway.

Later that fall I noticed the face had changed and I thought a mourning shroud was halfway up the face. I could clearly see the hairline of the tree spirit. The mourning shroud did concern me as my friend had told me she was having breathing problems.

I sadly knew this was a forerunner letting me know the seriousness of my friend’s health and it seemed the tree spirit was also grieving.

By Christmas my friend, Connie, was hooked up to oxygen 24-7 and eventually was in palliative care at the local hospital.

Sadly Connie passed in March of this year. This was about six months after the second tree spirit revealed itself to me.

🌲 The next time you hug a tree there might be more there than bark and foliage.🎄

Oh! I am sorry the tree spirit could not help your friend and could not do more than trying to give some little warning.

We also believe that wandering spirits seek refuge in trees. Those who could not make the transition to another realm or dimension after death, because of various reasons, would live in trees and wait until it’s their time to travel to the next destination.

When I saw the face in the tree I showed it to my friend and she was amazed to see it but didn’t recognize it being anyone she may have known. I didn’t tell her my foreboding thoughts of what it meant.

I like the belief that wandering spirits, who do not make the transition, seek refuge in trees and wait until it’s time to travel onwards. It sound a bit like the purgatory that I was taught about as a child in the Catholic religion.

This is very interesting! I have found so many similarities among old teachings in many aspects of belief systems. Say, we believe in black magic while exorcism seems much more serious and scary in comparison, etc.

I remember that tree and I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. Nature gives us many helpful guides and teaches us so much. We just need to listen.

Thanks for your condolences. Melinda @melinda010100. It seems strange Connie is not here. I pass her house when going to Montague and see her husband still left her car in the driveway.

I have not lost any close lady friends, although I know as we all get older it becomes more and more inevitable. I'm dreading it.

I have lost other dear friends but Connie lived close by and was someone I saw often. It seems surreal she is gone from this planet. She went downhill so fast.

Connie was a great yard sale person and known for her yard sales. She always had a big yard sale every fall and I would help her on the day of the sale. It was a lot of fun meeting the people who came by.

Did you ever play 'store' when you were a kid? I can remember getting cans of food from the pantry and stacking them up and then our dolls would go shopping. That's what yard sales remind me of. Playing store. I'll bet you have some fun memories of Connie.

The yard sales were a lot of fun Melinda @melinda010100 and fond memories of Connie.

I did play store as a child and had a little cash register before my younger brother ( 5 yrs younger)broke it while I was at school one day. He loved to play with and wreck my toys. I remember one special bride doll he had torn the head from -i was’t too happy about that.😒

Hello Jo (@redheadpie), there is so much to this physical world than meets the eye. I find it so exciting to know this and as I journey on my path of growing awareness I so relate to all you write, which has been written so beautifully. The face of the spirit in the tree is totally amazing, it was there for a reason. I am feeling that your friend was very connected to universal consciousness. 💜

I don't know if these faces in the trees, which I also have seen a couple of times, have something to do with tree spirits, but I do believe there's something and a tree is not just a tree to me.

I think we have been talking before about this tree and your friend and I feel very sorry for your loss.

When I was born my father has planted a cherry tree in the garden, unfortunately the tree grew somehow strange and my father had to cut it a few years ago because it would have fallen anyway ... I'm still fine though 😊

I’m happy you have experienced the faces in the trees Hannes. I have other photos of other tree faces but this one was so human looking.

Thanks for the condolences on the passing of my friend.

What a lovely gesture for your father to plant a cherry tree on your arrival into this world.🤗 You are the cherry on top.😉

My father has planted the cherry tree for me and an apple tree one year later when my sister was born. The apple tree is still growing 😉
