Online Education is good and my bad experience with Byjus

After the pandemic, we have seen how things are going in the online world. Because we were not able to move places and got locked at home it was the only option for many businesses to go with the online model. Be it shopping or grocery item delivery everything was done online with the least physical intervention and even the companies have given remote working facilities to their employees.

Education is one of the industries that also got online and all these schools and coaching centers were providing online classes. It was a completely new experience for parents as well as students because we were not familiar. The initial couple of weeks were challenging for me also because my son was not familiar with this environment. We have always seen that classes are done offline where we are required to visit school every day and spend almost the entire day there. Initially with the online model things were complicated but within a very short period, people were able to get familiarized.

After some point in time it was also comfortable because there was no travelling involved however after a couple of months I realized that the experience was not the same. Although my son was trying his best and even the teachers were trying the learning is not so good unless it is done in the physical classroom. I wanted to give my son a test of learning experience so I thought of trying alternate options. Byjus is the leading company in India that provides online classes. I thought why shouldn't I opt for these because now my son can grab knowledge over the video calls so with this additional type of classes he will be able to grab more knowledge. In the beginning, it was a good experience because he was getting good knowledge from the school as well as from the classes from Byjus.

After a couple of months, I realized that the kind of services promised by this online company were not delivered and they started avoiding classes. Mentors were not available and I had already paid a good amount in advance for the subscription for the next two years. I did complain many times but sadly they were not doing anything and every time they were coming up with a new excuse at some point in time I thought let's go over it. Even after paying a good amount of money for the online classes I was not able to get what I was promised. I don't know how things work because this was the first time I had ever paid for something like this.

While there was a lot of mess and inconsistency in the online classes by this company school classes were going well. Still, I feel that the students in early classes should surely visit the school and I was waiting for the day when the school is going to open the physical learning classes. Finally, they started and I was very happy because now finally my son is going to be in a school physically and it is very much needed for better learning and social connection. When the online classes were going on the screen time was increased which I know is not good for kids but there was no other option. I'm happy with whatever arrangement was done by the school for online classes but it was my mistake to go for additional online classes. The money I paid has gone to waste and I would not recommend anyone to go for this company.

Now this company is struggling in the market because their business is going down and I think the reason why it is happening is because they were not providing the services they promised. Search companies deserve to win this situation because they are frauds and they cheat people even after taking the money they don't deliver what they promised. Education is important and some parts of the learning can be online but the type of experience we get in traditional learning is the best option for now.
