15 Fascinating Things About the Brain and Mental Health Awareness

Hi!

How much do you know about your brain? It knows everything about you, but what does it know about itself?

What creates you as a hologram? Your thoughts, your frequencies, and your 5 senses.
Don't know what I'm talking about? That's ok! Feel free to do your research on #holomovement #holographicuniverse or just keep an eye on my future posts for more info.

Here are a few things that might amaze you or that you might already know:

  1. There are about 88 billion neurons in the human brain.
  2. Each neuron makes up to 10,000 synapses with other nerve cells.
  3. The neuron cannot divide.
  4. The brain does not have its own pain receptors and does not hurt.
  5. The brain of an adult has a gelatinous consistency and weighs about 1.3 kilograms.
  6. We receive impressive amounts of information from analyzers (visual, auditory, tactile, gustatory, olfactory), but we forget most of them. Forgetting is a purely physiological, useful process.
  7. In the first years of life, synapses develop explosively. The brain absorbs information like a sponge. Subsequently, the process slows down. The strongest synapses remain viable, requiring continuous training.
  8. Neurons are extremely sensitive to oxygen deprivation. Every minute without oxygen leads to the death of millions of neurons.
  9. We never use only 10% of our brain. There are simultaneous or alternative processes that use all the mass of the brain.
  10. Love has nothing to do with the heart per se. All the substances that generate or maintain it are synthesized and released by the brain.
  11. The term cerebral contusion refers to an impact blow to the mass of the brain but does not automatically attract a serious involvement.
  12. In epilepsy, there are areas of the brain where neurons chaotically discharge nerve impulses. In order for a person to lose consciousness, both hemispheres need to be affected.
  13. There are syndromes that occur in certain conditions and are characterized by hallucinations (can be of all kinds, from visual to auditory) generated by the brain. The mechanism can be a compensatory one.
  14. Consciousness is an attribute of the human brain and is a field of intense research in the great field of neuroscience.
  15. There are people with genius skills (usually called scientists) who can use the brain in extraordinary things, from memory to complex calculations. An example was Kim Peek, born without a callus body (a structure that connects the hemispheres), who inspired the movie "Rain Man". Peek could read two pages at once, memorizing any information read.

🎈 Remember what I wrote a few days ago about the link between our thoughts, our mind, and the heart?
