Smile in Black and White

Hey guys, hope y'all are doing ok?!
I'm glad it's a Friday and so I want to share my latest piece of art to this community.

It's a Pencil sketch of my dear friend( the muse)

Title: Smile in B/W 1
Medium: graphite pencils hb, 4b-10b, soft charcoal pencils ( general charcoal), eraser, blending stump and brushes
Duration: 6hrs
Size : 30cm x 21cm

Here are my work in progress shots

Started out with my grid lines and a sketch to get my reference accurately

Then I kicked off with the hair, had to shade a layer with graphites 4b pencil, then detail the texture with my charcoal pencil

I shaded the forehead with my graphites layer after layer with hatching. I was really satisfied with the results, so I went to dig on YouTube.

And I found another nice technique to shade.

Turns out that you can scribble on the skin too and still get a fine result when you blend smoothly with your brush and stumps
