Decentralized Decisions in Splinterlands future|| Burn proposal of CL, Millions of USD...

We all are aware about the fact of Chaos Legion packs taking too long time to get sold from the market of Splinterlands. Which is why the recent proposal has been made by Splinterlands and the community now shall decide what to do with the next step! Keeping that mind seems like the market has responded very wisely in return of this proposal. The fact here is, the packs were being sold in a very slow pace. This usual way would have taken a lot longer than expected for it to get sold out completely. Which is why burning the rest of the Chaos Legion packs does seems rational.

Burning of 18 Million US Dollar

Although, the big question here is what the hell is happening? The burning of the 4.7M Chaos Legion packs that is literally insane amount of money that we are talking about. Can you just imagine for some time we are talking about burning assets worth of 4.7* $4 = 18.8 Million US Dollar. At current market price 1 chaos legion pack is worth $4 if you are purchasing from Splinterlands. While the total amount in USD is an approximate amount that we are talking about.

Yes, this has happened before in the history of crypto. Projects burning coins in millions for the better growth of their eco-system. The market responded wisely in favor of this decisions of many coins thus the growth happened exponentially. While some did not! But given the fact that it is happening in our own HIVE blockchain and that even we have a saying in here is itself a great privilege.

Why am I sort of excited about Splinterlands?

Before I say anything, I just want to point out there are certain things which I like about this project. Since the inception of Splinterlands, there were various projects which started with this one. While almost every one of them has lost their way to the end and just vanished into thin air but Splinterlands is moving with great speed and that even towards true decentralization. Now everyone has their own say in this. Some will say Splinteralnds will not survive in the long run, while some might as well say Splinteralnds will make you rich but the fact lies here about the community. As long as the community is there and there is gamers and investors wise enough to play/invest in the game I suppose it will keep on going.

As just so you know, I am a hodler of Splinterlands assets! I hold DEC, SPS, NFT cards (including RUNI), Chaos Packs, Riftwatcher packs, Validator Node licenses. I am invested in SL quite heavily than of any other projects. While I have done this as because I am interested in this project and I want to see where it takes me in the long run. This is sort of my POV.

The Community shall decide what to do?

Being a part of HIVE blockchain as a user, content creator, gamer of Splinterlands I have a say in this just like any other user. That feeling of being a part of something big, it does really bring chills down the spine ;) We all are listening to the word decentralization but honestly there are countless users in crypto who do not get the actual feeling of this phrase. Thus Splinterlands has made it a reality.

This approach of voting is largely appreciated! At least what I see is if you are a stake holder in SPS than your vote matters. Not only because there are things which may not be liked by the community. This way it can be left out to community for them to decide which would suit the best under the given circumstance. I mean, as you can see the proposal below is rejected by the community. But if it was on the hands of the team of SL they would have initiated the given proposal and go with it. But this voting has given the right for community to decide the best out of this decision.

What will happen now to Chaos Legion?

I am not sure what is going to happen! But as we have seen in the past when there is a shortage of certain packs the demand increases. Both in terms of price of cards and packs. So we might see some good price movements in the coming days for Chaos Legion set of cards. Sit tight and just watch the game. FYI, I am buying packs still now and I intend to keep it going till I have the chance to purchase ;)

It is great that the community is involved and I think it's a smart move. As they said at SplinterFest , they don't know he actual amount of cards needed, they can just try and guage it.

Yeah, seems like it is working just like as they predicted. So we are in for a wild ride I suppose. Better be prepared for sth big in the coming days ;)

I think that their is no need to consider burning the packs if only there are more players. It seems many quit the game after the start of the card prices went considerably low. LOL. They should have bought and build their deck.

Anyways, I believe that this burning of packs will benefit us who stayed and believe in the game during this bear season. 😊
