Stuck Transaction on ETHereum...

Paying high gas fees for a transaction has been a controversary for the blockchain of Ethereum! Although in the recent days, the gas fees has been reducing compared to the highest gas fees paid back in the bull market. But yet in these layer two blockchains these sort of transaction fees are pretty insane. In addition to that getting a transaction stuck in the blockchain even after after paying these high gas fees is a real pain in the back! Yes, one of my transaction got stuck and it took too much time to get it undone. Which is why I had to be become a little nerd in this sector and go through few steps just to unstuck this transaction. I was in a hurry as I needed the amount of token to be transferred to my CEX account ASAP!


Under normal circumstances, it usually takes less than a minute for a transaction to through in eth blockchain but this time for it took more than two hours. Which surely was able to piss my mood off! Thus had to find the right way to make it work, instead of awaiting for the GWEI to come down and meet mine.

• Lets fix this issue. If you have not faced this issue yet, this post might get handy!

Let's first find the transaction which is stuck. As if we do not clear this transaction first, the upcoming transactions are going to get stuck/pending. Lets find the Transaction details in Etherscan. Two ways to find the transaction :

• https://etherscan.io/ : Input your wallet address, and you will be able to find all the details
• Metamask : Click on the three dot (Top right) on the extension and click View on Explorer
  
  

Once you find the Transaction, there are few aspects which we need to keep an eye on. On the transaction page, find NONCE this is the important number which we are going to need for our next task. For my case the nonce is no 6.

Move to metamask. This is the important past, open metamask and send ETH (amount can be 0, no problem) to your own account. Click on eth and select 0 ETH and click next. On the next conformation page, select Market and we are onto the next step.

Time to change some settings in our transaction :

• Max Base Fee (GWEI): Here you should double the amount in GWEI from the current amount shown below the red box. You can also monitor the GWEI and price via GWEI monitor page. I would go for the shortcut and just double the amount, so that my trx can get the highest priority.
• Priority Fee : Here you can see, it usually acts as a tip to the validator. The higher number you provide the higher the priority you will get. I just went with 1 out in here. Yeah, its quite a lot but I just had to be over with this problem.
• Gas Limit : Here you may just increase it slightly. Its probably set at 21k, I sat it to 23k.

If everything is taken care of just save and you should be good to go. Once you recheck and just send the transaction. Once it is sent, you will see your stuck transaction has been overwritten and it has been dropped and replaced. Something similar to this.

Conclusion :

Congratulations, in this era of almost fee less transactions, we are giving crazy fees for transactions. In addition our transactions getting stuck here and there. And in order to get my crypto, from my own account, I have to pay an additional extra fees. Voilaaaaaaa.... I love ETH blockchain lmao : )

I am not sure how will I praise HIVE blockchain! With everything at the tip of my hand. No hassle whatsoever! If I love ETH blockchain, I would probably do crazy things for HIVE ;)
