War in the Battle Field...

This week has been an interesting week. I played some tournaments in Splinterlands. Sadly, I was beaten left and right by the veterans. Although, it was a pleasant experience and seems like, my urge to get into the battle field has gone slightly up than it was before. I am probably getting attracted into the tournaments field (especially tournaments).Let me share few of the battles which were interesting and gave me some tough time in the battle field.

To begin with, lets talk in details about the battle below. The battle was of 35 mana. And only two splinters were available. The rules of the match were simple

With that being said, I decided to go with Earth splinter. As comparably, my earth deck is stronger in the given rule set. I wanted to keep the idea as simple as possible. My tank was MYCELIC INFANTRY as it had enough life and shield to keep on going for multiple round. Unless, my opponent comes up with huge magic attack. Giving it a boost with a healer Goblin Physcic which had 4 abilities within itself. Tank heal and the silence ability gave some additional help in the match of mine. I choose to keep it just behind my Venari Knifer.

Choosing, this position gave me some benefits from sneak attack monsters. As Venari had the ability of thorns, which would create an opening for my opponent and take the hit back. Also Acid shooter was my choice because of its ranged attack and poison effect. As you can see in the match, it sure did its job. Queen Mycleia was the beast in the battle. She helped in several ways. With Triage, Amplify, Rust and protect ability it made the game even easier for me. Although my opponent mistake was not coming at me with more destructive power but rather he was focused on giving the monsters some additional abilities with martyr ability. Quite a counterproductive team was made up by me in the nick of time.


This match was quite interesting. It was of 37 mana. Also it had the rule set of earthquake, Equalizer, Ferocity. So damage would be done at every round. In addition the benefit would with the equalizer. The idea of mine was, I need to come up with magic attack, since it will do the most damage to the opponent and also increase some force along with it. My opponent grasped my idea and came up with a counter, aka death splinter. Which already reduces one of my strategy of additional magic attack. I came up with the strategy of strong Tank and in this case Mycelic Infantry. A pretty powerful tank with a healer behind to cover, gets to be a deadly combo. Its enrage and shield ability helped me perform very wisely in this match.

In second position, I choose Regal Peryton. It was because of her speed and magic attack. Also in addition she has the flying ability which is a much necessary ability in this battle. Now for the 3rd position, I went up with Queen mycelia. Like I stated in my previous battle, she can do wonders upon needed situations. In addition, I came up with Scavo Technomancer. Its a very important card with a blast ability. In countless battles it has provided me with significant benefits. This time it was no different. Also the rust ability made the opponent's shield completely useless against my monsters. Do not forget about the healer. Goblin did the healing and lived up to the expectation as usual. Last but not the least choosing Acid shooter has its perks. With its poison ability it did what it could. I would say, my monsters did perfect job in the battle field. My opponent did not came up with enough attacks towards me. Also odds were no on his side as well.


This is where disaster started happening. I was not able to think clearly and came up with not so decent line up, which literally cost me my win in this match. Also cometing against Lux was also not an option in this line up of mine. I should have tightened up my lineup with little strong line up, probably adding another magic monster. Which could have changed the course of the game very easily. But it was a wise lesson to be learned. Also the line up of my opponent was a very decent one. Nothing explosive but yet furious.

Sometimes a small mistake can cause a lot of harm. In this case, I was struck by stun and it literally cost me my match. Not to forget that I could have utilized my team, little bit differently than the out come of the match would have turned out to be different. Lesson learned very well. As of this match, I would be more vigilant about the position of my monsters.

Overall, this tournament was very exciting for me. As I was able to utilize my monsters at full strength. Which was worth upgrading my deck lol. But I wish I could give more and more time in the game to get to witness these matches and become better as time passes by! Looking forward to those battles ;)
