Enjoying the good old food and Chai/Tea after years.

Green Minimalist Stylish Photo Collage.png

It was more like a food exploration than a mindful walk to me. I was missing this good old food for years but never had the time and chance to taste them!

I'm talking about the food on my University campus. The food is nothing extraordinary. You may rate it pretty average. For us, the ex and the current student this is what we ate every other day.

The food is very cheap but tasty. And surprisingly, it tastes as it is, when I tried it last time.

Let me share more.

This was my lunch just like hundreds of other students.

This dish is called 'Khichri'. It's a mixture of lentils and rice with a lot of spices. I have added the chicken curry and a potato tikka to it. It costs $.40. Can you believe how cheap this is?

You can get this from in front of the central library of the campus. There are some other places like the university cafeteria, hall canteen, etc where students take their lunches. And this is another place.

The students usually take this lunch occasionally, as this is spicy and very rich so it's not a good idea to go for this same meal every day.

Also, this place sells other lunch items like fried rice, chicken fry, etc. You can go for that too. But I choose this one because I was missing the taste. And when I saw this on their menu, I crave to have this.

After lunch, I took the locally made sweet curd as a dessert. The clay-made pot was filled with the tasty flavors of the curd. It costs me $.30. This was the first time I tried this on campus, back then this was not available in the area.

It was around 3 PM and I was feeling a little dizzy after the heavy meal. So needed something refreshing. So our friends went to the 'Shadow' (a place where photocopy services are available for the students) to have some tea.

I guess, the color of the tea is saying loudly how delicious it was. It was a perfect combo with the milk and the tea, loved it.

We call tea 'Cha' our local Bangla which is popular as Chai all over the world. But Chai is the Hindi/Indian version of the word. One would difference in the taste of Tea in India and Bangladesh; we prefer more tea than milk in our Cha whereas Indians usually put more milk in the Cha than the tea leaves.

One cup of tea costs only $.05. Yes, that's how cheap the campus foods are. Everything is priced according to the student's budget.

As I have said earlier, the taste of the food and this tea seemed almost the same to me. It surprises me the most.

Lastly, after finishing our work we went for a walk around the campus.

I have probably shared the last two photos earlier, these were from my last visit to the campus, not the recent one. Pardon me as I didn't capture any photos of the campus this time.

The day was beautiful, everything went smoothly. And the food added much more to the day for sure. It filled my heart with good memories.

Have a wonderful Wednesday Walk everyone.

I like the color of the rice. Is it mixed with butter or margarine? The curd looks delicious. It was indeed a fruitful walk.

University food is cheap but it lives in the hearts of student. If I talk about my university, there is variety of foods from biryani to chai, daal etc. Well, I am not here to narrate the whole food menu 😜😄😄😄

It was indeed a day living with old memories. Visiting campus after graduation 🎓 mean a different kind of feeling in my opinion because I didn't experience it till now.
"Kichuri" I popular in our campus also and price is almost same and I like the item very much.

Yogurt is my favorite but I take it in rare cases. I hope it was very good in taste.

Sure, visiting the campus after finishing our graduation feels a lot different than when we were the students.
One of the best thing about DU campus is the street food.

I myself also like this whenever I go for a walk with my friends, we eat food etc. Old-time people are sitting here, their food is very interesting. Looks like more fun
