Gardening - My FEEL GOOD Way.

Taking care of the plants is the only escape from the hustle and bustle of this city life.

My son's school exam is going on. We are not stressed out but the work schedule has changed a bit because of the exam and study routine. I'm not getting any time to spend on my garden for a few days. And that's actually stressing me out more than the exams. lol

I was thinking to plant some Culantro/spiny coriander for a few days and finally today, I got the time.

Let me share some updates from my small garden.

The local spinach is doing pretty well. You may have known that the plants were ruined by my neighbor's negligence. I have managed to save some and now it all looks good, shiny, and ready to add to dishes.

The blue butterfly pea plant is doing great. Look at the beauty! Every morning, these blue beauties make my day.

I have saved some seeds too to plant in the next year.

And here comes the Culantro planting mission.

I brought some from the market the other day. To be honest I don't like the taste of this herb. I usually don't add them in curries. But I thought let's try some, maybe it would be different this time. Who knows, probably my taste bud has changed.

But I was wrong!

So later on, I thought to plant them instead of throwing them away.

This plant usually comes with roots, like this. So it's nothing complicated to plant. I had some spare pots and soil ready. I have added some banana skin the other day to prepare the soil more nutritious. And that's where planted these herbs.

I hope they will grow well. But not sure what will I do with them if they really do so I don't eat this herb!

My feel good way!

I was feeling down for the past couple of days. It's not about stress, not about any hidden tension (or probably), I'm not sure. And maybe, it's that time of the year to stress out about everything.

Anyway, so I was thinking about what can make me happy. Oh, I have tried the food therapy, but it didn't work. I went outdoors a few times, and do some little shopping. But nothing is actually working.

Then, finally, I settled down to take care of my plants. And guess what, feels like I have infested some green into my soul!!

This small corner gives me such peace. I'm blessed that I am very able to build this happiness :)

I also want to plant blue butterfly turnips next year, I read about the health benifits of the flower and found some plant online, does germination rate was easy?

That would be great. The germination is not tough. I usually grow from the seeds that I get from the plants. I get around an 80% success rate. You can grow them pretty easily, they don't need much nurture but grow on their own.

Taking care of the plants is the only escape from the hustle and bustle of this city life.

What about reading books, watching movies/TV series, listening to music/podcasts, or playing video games? Or simply go out of the city (for example to a village) for a walk. Or sit down in the nature. There are many good options to slow down a bit. By reading a good fantasy book, you may feel that you stepped into another world. This is one of the best ways to relax/rest.

As a mom of a preschooler, it's not easy to find the time and the concentration need to read or even watch a movie in peace. I do those things occasionally. But when I need them most, it can never happen for many reasons.
In Dhaka, it's quite impossible to find nature close to me, without this garden corner that I created myself.
Anyway, you may have heard that not everything works for everyone. So...
Thanks for your thoughtful suggestions. I'm planning to visit the countryside in a few days.
Have a good day.

I understand. Raising a very young child and parenting in general is indeed very time and concentration demanding. Normally it is about paying close attention to the child almost constantly. Sometimes it can be very stressful, but for a good parent, it is very rewarding too. The whole process. Seeing your own child growing up, and seeing that he/she have a good life is very satisfying.

I currently do not have a child, and I am currently not even planning to have a child, but I heard from others that it is very good. My mother also loved us (my brother and me) very much, and she did everything for us. So it is a personal experience from a different aspect.

Hopefully you will be able to relax/rest in the near future. Sometimes everyone need it.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Yes, parenting is draining but at the same time rewarding. And I focus on the second one most. I love being a mom but it takes a whole portion of my day.
Kids will grow up too soon and we will have our own time someday...
Good to know about your future plan and about your mom.
Have a good day :) :)

Yes. The time is flying. This year (on 2022.09.17) I became 30 years old. I still remember many parts of my childhood as if they would have happened yesterday. I heard someone saying that a lifetime is a blink of an eye, and this is very expressive. We should try to enjoy the present, and every moment in it.

taking care of plants seems runs out our energies, but the fact, they give us back our energies and improve good mood.

hey, I’m glad you have blue pea flowers there. That’s my fav edible flower to make desserts and drink :)

It's not difficult to have a small garden, place some small pots of flowers and plants in your living area and you can have it right there. 😊
Thanks for your appreciation.
