Here's why I started Upvoting comments and think you can do it too.

I'm upvoting comments on my post from the past month.

This is not the first time for me but I stopped doing this practice years ago. Resuming it makes me feel good.

It's like a little appreciation for the commenter who put their efforts, thoughts, opinions into my writing. It means so much more when I see people interact genuinely. Only giving thanks to them seems like not enough.

Why did I start doing it again and why did I stop it before?

I was pretty inactive a few months back. I couldn't manage to post regularly and commenting was really impossible. I was busy with life, with some offline stuff. Also, my physical condition was not very good because of Covid. Anyway, now for a month I again start to get a little active.

This is the reason I stopped interacting on my own, used to only reply to my posts. It made me feel so wired. Like I'm taking out the juice without giving back anything.

Now when I'm feeling okay, I think it's an opportunity to give back something that I can.

Benefits I'm getting by upvoting comments.

  • It's giving me pleasure, that's the first point. I have said earlier that it's like a little appreciation for your efforts. It means a lot to me.

  • As Hive price is up now so my Upvote value caught up around $0.60. Upvoting 10%-20% is like $0.05-$0.10. That's nothing if I compared it with the total value of vote people can get by posting. But it's something that could add to your wallet, no?

  • Not always I can come back again in the conversation so upvoting makes it easy to present that I agree/have seen it/appreciate your efforts. It seems more rational to me.

  • I think I'm getting more interaction than before. I wouldn't claim that it's because of the upvote but because I'm being more active than before. But I guess, there must be some influence. What do you think?

So that's it.

I'm feeling pretty well with this. I guess if you have a good amount of vote value you can do it too to appreciate the people investing their time and effort reading our writings. It will overall affect the genuine interaction of people in Hive.

That's my thought but I would love to know what do you think about this.

It’s always nice to leave a comment and make the other one feel appreciated. A couple of days ago, my upvotes were worth nothing (lol, newbie issues), but now at least I can give the other person 0.03… still, it’s not that much, but I believe you’re right. It makes the other person feel special, it’s all about engaging and connecting :-)

PS: good to know that you’re better now from damn covid!

You said it right. Getting back to the person that made some effort reading our posts makes me feel better. And appreciating genuine interaction should be our priority :)
It's good to see our upvote can add a little to others' wallets.
Thanks for your wonderful worlds. Have a great day ahead.

I always appreciate it when someone leaves an upvote, even if it's just 1% and not worth more than dust, because of the reason you mentioned, then you know someone read it and even if you don't get a reply, it's confirmation.

I have the habit of voting 5% per comment, always. But now that I have delegated half of my HP, I noticed my VP is going down too fast, so will probably go back to 1% comment votes. I also made many more comments last week so it's draining the VP a lot lol.

PS if I had to choose between a reply or vote on a comment, I still would prefer the reply. But I know real-life often gets in the way to reply to everyone.

That's a great habit you have. Some people don't reply back or doesn't end the conversation, I would say it's better than that.
Yes, I always always reply each and every comment. When a conversation ends with a good bye or something and I have nothing left to say, I try to upvote it; like a good way of saying bye to me.
Thanks for sharing what you think. It means a lot.

Thanks! On the other hand, I think your approach is a good one as well. Gonna give it some thought if that can work for me, as I'm quite sure I'll run out of vp soon otherwise lol. At least, when I can keep up with this amount of comments. I bet at some point life gets too crazy ;)

Have a nice weekend!

My voting power never goes up higher that 75%, mostly at 60%, hehehe 🤣
For this reason, I stopped upvoting comments on my post. I give luvshare to the first five comments.
But... I should start again!
Thanks for sharing rem-steem.

Luvshare is also good. Either way you are supporting others, that's what matters.

Agree.

I often try to give upvote for every comment on my post, also try to visit back their blog and give upvote & comment on their post. I'd really want to make some friends and good interaction here. I really grateful for people who visit me back and appreciate my post too.

But sometimes there are some people who we have upvoted and commented on, but they did not give an appreciation in return. But that's okay, I'm not too hopeful for that. I thought, maybe they're busy, they don't have time, or didn't notice, or whatever the reason is, it's their right.

For me the important thing is that we have tried to appreciate them. And I just realized that those activities gave us more value in another form.

Good to see that you are thinking this way. Yes, you will find many that doesn't care about their commenters but most people are generous as I found.
Keep up your engagement here and you can do great, give it some time.
Good to talk to you. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you! And thank you to follow me back.
Yes, I've met more generous people here. Will try to keep the engagement, although sometimes I lack of words and my English is not really well :P
Have a wonderful day too.

This is very thoughtful.
Showing appreciation to the readers or fellow authors that take there time to comment and support your post is a good thing. And i can say, you are one kind and helpful Lady.

For me, is not just commenting and gaining upvotes but to create a good relationship with my fellow authors is what gives me joy, even though the rewards makes feel encouraged, but having fans that loves your work is something worth doing.💝💝💯

I enjoyed reading your post @rem-steem.

I can't agree more about making relationship with the author. It's a great thing to do but most of us can't/ not willing to manage that much time.
Thanks for your words. Have a good day.

I can't agree more about making relationship with the author.

You got me wrong there. Making good relationship with the author means friendship, having the same goal or idea. In the sense that, i might like your work and decided to reach out to you and offer you an offline job. In that way, we have shared same common goals and ideas and not the other way round.

Thank you for your understanding.❤😌

By saying so, I meant, I agree with you. Making good relationship with the author, people from different places of the world is a great thing.
I can't manage that much time to comment on same author even in a month. I wish I could do that. So if you ask me to tag someone I call friend here, I have to think ab hour maybe. I'm here for a while but still didn't manage to make that good relationship with anyone. If you can make it, that would be great.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
