'Milk Barfi' for this weekend!

What to prepare for the afternoon during a weekend is a big question, no? Maybe not for you but for me who has to feed her family, this is a really big thing to decide. You may wonder what is a big deal about this! But when I had to keep in mind homemade, variation, tasty, easy, nutritious and so in my mind; then it seems a little difficult to decide what to cook!!

For yesterday's afternoon, I decided to prepare 'Milk barfi'. It's one of the easiest desserts I know. Let's see how you can prepare it in just 15 minutes.

What we need?

  • Milk Powder
  • Cornflour
  • Sugar
  • Egg
  • Sugar
  • Dried fruits & nuts and orange zest (optional)
  • Water
  • Ghee

How we can do that?

Take a bowl and mix two tablespoons of milk powder, half a cup of sugar, two tablespoons of water, one egg with yolk, and one teaspoon of ghee. Add more water if needed to make a medium-thick consistency.

Put the mixer on a pan and cook it on a medium flame for a few minutes.

The mixture will start to come together in just a minute because of the cornflour. Stir continuously or it will become lumpy.

After another minute it will become thick like this.

Add some lemon or orange zest before turning off the heat.

This will start to sit in the pan very quickly. Pour in a serving dish just after finish cooking. Decorate with some fruits and nuts.

The whole process will take 10 to 15 minutes. You can prepare it if a sudden guest comes to visit you or if you are feeling hungry; anytime. It's super soft, spongy, tasty, sweet, and delicious.

If you never try milk barfi before then I will suggest you try. It will give you a different taste to your mouth.
