Splinterlands Battle Mage Challenge: Opportunity

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Opportunity in which every monster gains the opportunity ability.

Opportunity monsters attack the lowest health monster on the opposing team.

Opportunity general strategy....

Personally I find shields and repair work well for this which give extra defence against melee and ranged monsters. Also triage can work.

Anti-shield strats can also work against your opponent such as rust, shatter and piercing.

I don't generally play camoflauge as I find having attacks dispersed is a weak strategy, which tends to happen with Opportunity.

Opportunity battle exemplar

The battle below shows a battle featuring the Life splinter with shields in full effect!

Mana and rulesets:

• 16 Mana
• Opportunity and Gladiator.

Summoner - Tirus for the shields

• Crystal werewolf - a decent low mana tank
• Amorourer - repair
• Soul Fiend - 0 mana sink
• Elven cutthroat - attack 1
• Highland Archer - attack 2
• Celestial Harpy - attack 3

The battle...

• round 1 - I take out both my opponent's last and first monsters, NICE!
• round 2 - I lose my soul fiend, but that's what he's there for.
• round 3 - I take out the Blinding Reflector.
• round 4 - I take out Jared Scar.

Final battle analysis

A classic win based around playing 6 to 4 cards in a low mana battle.

Also my shields nullified the MASSIVE attack which Jared Scar has - 7 damage is only 1 against a shield!

Opportunity final thoughts...

Play shields!!!
