The Big Manchester Derby Is On This Weekend

Manchester United Vs Manchester City - how the tables have turned since the start of the 2000s. Back then, Manchester City had just won promotion back to the premier league and it was always a struggle for them to stay up.

Then the Qataris bought them up, brought in some top class managers and players, and now they are on the ascendency. Meanwhile, Manchester United kept Fergie too long and since he left, in the early 10s, they have found themselves languishing.

Last season's second place was flattering but a deception in my opinion. All their rivals were unlucky with injuries and to have such an alignment of the stars again will be unlikely.

The new stars are taking time to settle in and it is clear that Ronaldo needs a foil like he did in Real Madrid with Benzema. If the play with Cavani up front, I do rate their chances of getting at least a draw.

But if they play with a three up front with Sancho and Greenwood, then I think it will be a mauling like it was with Liverpool. Let's see if Ole picks the right team.
