Mi princesita Isabella/My little princess Isabella (Esp/Eng)
Buen día. La semana pasada vino mi hermana con mi sobrina de visita y antes de que llegarán, empecé a realizar un retrato a mi sobrinita Isabella para darle la sorpresa de bienvenida.
Good morning. Last week my sister came to visit with my little niece, and before they arrived, I began working on a portrait of my niece Isabella to surprise her as a welcome gift.
Han pasado 3 largos años desde la última vez que nos reencontramos. Muchos cubanos tenemos a integrantes de la familia regados por todo el mundo y gracias a Dios que nosotros podemos reencontrarnos , otras familias desafortunadamente, no pueden hacerlo. A pesar de que me apuré e dibujar a Isabella, llegaron más temprano y me encontraron en el proceso creativo. Mi sobrina se alegró mucho y más tarde dejó su huella en el dibujo y en mi tablilla 😅 casi hace polvo el dibujo, imagínense cómo una niña de 5 años coge un dibujo, suerte que lo impedí a tiempo 🤣🤣
It has been three long years since the last time we reunited. Many Cubans have family members scattered all over the world, and thank God we were able to reunite — while, unfortunately, other families cannot. Even though I hurried to finish Isabella’s portrait, they arrived earlier than expected and found me in the middle of the creative process. My niece was overjoyed, and later she left her mark on the drawing and on my board 😅 she almost turned the drawing to dust — just imagine how a five‑year‑old handles a drawing! Luckily, I stopped her just in time 🤣🤣

Para realizar el retrato utilicé:
- hoja de papel tamaño A4
- lápices 2HB y 2B
- portaminas inventado de minas 5B
- pincel.
- goma moldeable
- hoja de papel para apoyar la mano y evitar ensuciarla además de no dañar el dibujo
To create the portrait I used:
· A4 size sheet of paper
· 2HB and 2B pencils
· Invented mechanical pencil with 5B leads
· Brush
· Kneaded eraser
· Sheet of paper to rest my hand on to avoid smudging and also to avoid damaging the drawing
Paso a paso/ Step by step 🎨
Comencé a estructurar el rostro de mi sobrina con un lápiz HB para hacer los trazos claros. Después de terminar de estructurar el rostro utilizando la cuadrícula, empecé a dar claroscuro a la figura humana.
I began to outline my niece's face with an HB pencil to keep the strokes light. After finishing structuring the face using the grid, I began to add chiaroscuro to the human figure.
Más adelante, después de terminar de estructurar el rostro utilizando la cuadrícula, comencé a dar claroscuro a la figura humana. Utilicé el pincel seco para difuminar los tonos del rostro
Later, after finishing structuring the face using the grid, I began to add chiaroscuro to the human figure. I used the dry brush to blend the tones of the face.
Después arriba de algunas zonas, voy dando claroscuro con el lápiz 2B.
Then, on top of some areas, I add chiaroscuro with the 2B pencil.
Comencé a dibujar los dientes y los labios además de empezar a dibujar los complicados rizos del pelo. Aquí además de oscurecer un poco, empecé a dibujar el suéter.
I began to draw the teeth and the lips, as well as starting to draw the complicated curls of the hair. Here, in addition to darkening a bit, I began to draw the sweater.
Aunque me demoré un poco en el pelo, disfruté mucho dibujándolo, todo un reto.
También desde temprano llegó el apagón.
Tuve que terminar algo apresurado porque mi sobrina es un ciclón🤣 Espero que les guste el resultado.
Although I took a little while on the hair, I really enjoyed drawing it—quite a challenge. Also, the power went out early. I had to finish a bit rushed because my niece is a whirlwind 🤣 I hope you like the result.
También le regalé la cebrita que le había dibujado meses antes.
I also gave him/her the little zebra that I had drawn for her months before.
