Knife Defense In The First Place
When someone has a weapon, he has some leverage and he can use that to attack you. If someone is coming out and stabbing without saying anything, that indicates he knows the target very well and wants to hurt the victim anyway.
Most of the time, the attacker moves towards you, starts talking and then attacks with a knife. Awareness of your surroundings can help you a lot in a situation like this to defend yourself. I cannot emphasize enough about this. When you see what's going on, you can decide and make your move pretty fast.
If someone comes to you and starts talks to you in an aggressive way or unusual way, you get the signal that something is wrong or something is about to happen. If you have ever been in a situation like that, you felt that. What you do next, that can change the whole thing.
You can talk to the attacker and try to figure out his intention. As soon as you see he is reaching out on something in his pocket, there is a high chance that he is about to pull his weapon. It could be a knife. Or, you can see that the guy hides something behind, he is not showing his hands or stands in a way that you cannot see what he has on his other hand.
This is dangerous because if he has a knife, he can attack you at any time. Do not let him get close to you. Or, if you see that he is going to pull his knife, you can make your move instantly in order to stop him before pulling his knife.
When you are able to stop the attacker in the first place, you can defend yourself more effectively. You have to think about the situation in a different way when he has a knife in his hand. What does he want to do? Does he want your money, cell phone, watch or anything valuable that you have?
If he wants your money, you can give it to him. By the way, you can also check out whether he is alone or there are other attackers around you. They might not come altogether, some attackers are just watching. You have to consider that as well.
