When you have a clear picture of something, you can make decisions effectively. Do you know how much money you spent this month so far? How much did you spend the last six months? You need to keep accurate records of every transaction. It will give you reminders when you are about to spend your money. You can avoid overspending.

There are some items you have to buy. But you may spend money to buy something that is not that important. Here's the trick. Before buying something you are not sure whether you actually need that. Wait for at least 24 hours. After that, if you still think you need that, you can make the buying decision.

It's something I already do and I saw myself having less impulsive buys from doing so.

Great! I also do that. Sometimes people buy something just feeling the impulse to buy that instantly. Later they think about why they bought that.

This was really good advice @rezoanulvibes! I have to admit I’ve been one of those impulsive shoppers you’re talking about for a long time. I would have probably been much worse if it weren’t for my husband holding me accountable and us doing finances together.

I will try your 24 hour waiting tip and see if that helps calm down my impulses. I especially like to shop when I’m bored or feeling down (it makes me happy buying something new 😬).

Thanks for sharing this ~

It also makes me happy buying something new. :) The budget holds me back. We can enjoy our life and do more things when spending money on something that is needed.

Thank you @crosheille for taking the time to watch the video and sharing your experience!
