Robinhood’s Twitter Account Hacked To Promote Scam Token
You usually trust when you see any tweet from a popular verified Twitter account. If anything looks suspicious even from a popular verified Twitter account with huge followers, you have to be careful. Otherwise, you may fall for scams.
The shocking news is Robinhood’s Twitter account was hacked or somehow hackers took control of the Twitter account and then promote scam tokens on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). People can do stock and crypto trading on Robinhood and it is very popular.
When people see a token named RBH from the official verified Twitter account, it seems Robinhood launches a native token. But that's fake. Hackers created RBH tokens on the BSC network to scam people. It is stated that 10 people bought the token which is around $1000. But it is not confirmed whether 10 people invested in that token or hackers used the bot to do that.
Once people buy the token, they cannot sell or transfer it to another wallet. Binance Security Team locked the account and took the necessary steps for protection. In a tweet, Binance CEO CZ urges to think critically even if the account looks real or is real. Robinhood does not have any native tokens.
Hackers took advantage of this situation and made it look like Robinhood launched a new token called RBH. They offer this token at $0.0005 if investors buy this quickly to become one of the first buyers. Hackers used these tactics to push people to take action quickly without thinking about it more. That tweet was removed later.
Before making any investment decision, do not get into FOMO. It may lead to making bad financial decisions. You need to spend time doing your analysis, and research. Do your due diligence and think critically about whether that is a good investment.
Fraudsters and scammers are ready to take advantage of any situation to scam and steal money. Don't fall for it. Recently Hackers hacked Whalechart's Twitter account for the Uniswap giveaway scam. Again Whalechart is a popular Twitter account and people trust that.
Hackers shared a link in a tweet to participate in the fake giveaway. If you click the link and connect your wallet, you fall into their traps and they can take your crypto and NFTs from your wallet. Losing money or crypto assets is a terrible experience and I wish no one would go through this.
