When you get a salary, that's fixed. You know how much you are going to get at the end of the month. On other hand, if you get paid hourly basis, you know how much you are going to get hourly, but your earnings can increase or decrease in a month. Since you know exactly how much you are going to get at the end of the month, you feel secure when you get a salary. You get paid leave. Sometimes you might need to work more after-hour office, but you may not get paid for that. When you have hourly pay, the more time you work, the more you will get paid. You may not enjoy paid leave.

I tend to think both of them are the same but it is true that the hourly people tend to get cut if companies have to size down.

Whether you get a salary or hour pay, you are earning. But there are specific difference and have advantages and disadvantages.

I work from home, sometimes I go over working hours, that is, I am so focused on what I do, that the hours pass and pass, I think that working from home has its advantages, but the great disadvantage is precisely this, in the office there is always a time to rest, but at home it does not apply, I will have to be organized about it

When you enjoy what you do and you are very focused on that, you are wondering why time flies so fast. :)

One interesting thing is, when you work from home, other people think that you are free since you are at home. When you are in the office, that is assumed that you are busy. In the beginning, it's hard to convince others that you are not always available and free just because you are at home. Your home is not just a home, it is your office as well.

It's a mixed bag, hourly employees tend to get cut first, but then the salaried employee can be made to work extra time and be taken advantage of, but without any extra pay. I have done both sides of the stick and honestly I would rather do hourly.

Yes, it happens. It says 9 to 5, the salaried employees have to work extra hours sometimes without having any extra benefits. In that case, hourly employees has the advantage of getting paid hourly basis.
