Arthur Madrid, CEO of The Sandbox, was the latest victim of Twitter account hacks. After hacking this Twitter account, the attacker started promoting fake airdrop links. The phishing site was similar to the Sandbox website. The attacker often makes the website address resemble the original one.

The Sandbox tweeted on its official Twitter account to inform people about the hacks so that no one clicks the link of the CEO of the Sandbox tweet. They suggested reporting the scammer's tweet in order to block that. They are working to take down the scammer's phishing website.

Arthur Madrid regained control of his Twitter account. He also tweeted about this incident. In his tweet, he advised not to click any link promoting airdrop that seems spammy. You have to notice the link to verify whether that's the official domain or not.

Hacking Twitter accounts and targeting crypto investors become common forms of attacks these days. DJ Steve Aoki's Twitter account has been hacked recently. Again the attackers use the compromised Twitter account to make people fall into their traps. Due to spreading phishing links claiming free tokens, victims lost almost $170,000 worth of crypto assets.

There are legit airdrops and options to claim free tokens. But you have to be careful when you see any tweet about airdrops and free token-claiming offers. Popular crypto influencers' verified Twitter accounts can be compromised. So it may come from the attackers that you see.

In case you click the link to claim the airdrop, that might be the last time you see crypto in your wallet. Hope no one loses their crypto assets becoming victims of phishing attacks and scams. Stay safe.

I hope people didn't lose money to that scam. People need to be more careful clicking links and it sucks to get accounts hacked.
