My First Batch Of Black Soldier Fly Pupae Turn Into Adult Flies.

Hello Hivers!!

Welcome to my blog!!

The first batch of black soldier fly have now emerged from the pupa's cocoon, I discovered this early afternoon.

When a black soldier fly pupates, it goes through a metamorphosis process and becomes a fly. During this time, the pupae don't consume any food or drink; instead, they just wait to become adult black soldier flies.

Furthermore, once it has developed into a fly, the male black soldier fly only has one job: to mate. The female, meanwhile, has a different job: to lay eggs that will restart another cycle.

Once they complete this objective, they eventually perish.

There isn't much more to do for them at this stage because we have already provided everything they will need for their brief stay, including water that we have provided along with a foam or cotton wool container for them to drink from.

In order to make it simple to collect their eggs for incubation, we place an attractant to entice the female to lay her eggs in the eggies we have supplied for her.

At this stage, the only thing that matters is that the temperature and humidity are appropriate; otherwise, the male will be unable to fulfill his responsibility of mating.

In order to facilitate the process, the love cage should be placed where it will receive plenty of sunlight. The flies are constantly quite busy between 29°C and 35°C and humidity 50% to 100%. Temperature lower than this, will see them just perching one place on the net without flying about.
