Transplanting Some Scent Leaf Plants. (Spices) In My Garden.
Hello Hivers!!
Welcome to my Blog.
Scent leave which goes by many names in Nigeria is one of the important spice we do add to our food to give it a unique aromatic tastes and smell.
Scent leave ( Ocimum gratissimum ) which is known as “Clove Basil”, African Basil” which is a shrub that can be found in almost every home grown garden in southern Nigeria.
It is mainly used in cooking tasty meals, but it also has an immense medicinal value which can not be overlooked because it is rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron and some vitamins which helps the body fight cancer , control blood sugar and boost digestion and many more benefits.
With all these amazing benefits, it is very important for one to have this spice in his garden..
I planted them by broadcasting them on the soil and covering them lightly, then Transplanting them was quite easy, cause I had to pull them out of the ground with a shovel so I will have most of the top soil intact with the roots..
I then dug little holes where I will transfer them to, and added some rabbit manure, this is so that when the roots get established in the new area, it will have abundant of nutrients to thrive vegetatively.
I then covered the rabbit manure lightly with soil before transplanting the scent leave plant so the root shouldt have direct contact with the manure, then covered the plants up with more soil.
After that, I watered immediately, so the plant won’t be in shock, and wither
