My recent awful experience at the hospital

Hospital: A place where people go to seek medical attention, my recent event at the hospital has made me feel like the hospital is no more the solution for curing sickness and wounded people.

Government hospitals that are supposed to be friendly with patients are rather the ones that don’t care and the private ones are those that do all the caring.

Allow me to take you back to the year 2021, my brother was involved in a bike accident and was rushed to the hospital emergency ward. He was lying in his pool of blood, seeing him there made me scared. The doctor and nurses who were on duty by then took care of him and did all the necessary stuff they needed to do.

His leg was pretty bad, he had an opened wound and a fracture on his left leg, but instead of cleaning and taking care of the wound before dealing with the fracture, they decided to put the leg in a P.O.P, at first, we thought they did in other to come back, later on, to take care of the wound.

3 days past and they never spoke about checking on the leg to see how bad it is. It got to a time my brother's leg got swollen in the P.O.P. they had kept it inside. We filled a complaint to the nurses who were on duty by then and we were ignored, the doctor came around to check up and patients and my brother spoke to him about how swollen his leg was in the P.O.P and he responded that he will have someone check on that, but we never heard from anyone. On the 5 days, my brother had enough of the hospital drama and filled for them to discharge him. His motive was that he won’t have his leg kept in a P.O.P. amputated, if the hospital won’t take care of it, he will send it to a local healer to work on the leg. The doctor and nurses tried to talk to him about discharge but once my brother makes up his mind, there is no going back. The nurse brought out a form for him to sign before his discharge.

That was the last time I stepped foot in the hospital.
Some hospitals take good care of patients and there is other that just don’t care whether you live or day, my experience at the hospital gave me negative thought about how they treat patients there, the funny part of it is that we weren’t the first people to have experienced the bad side of the hospital.

We all come from different parts of the world, some people have a good memory of how doctors and nurses helped save the lives of their loved ones and I am not using my recent experience to generalize it to all hospitals because there are good doctors out there whose motives are to help save life’s, but there are others out there who don’t care about the life of patients as long as they get paid for being at where he or she is and my recent experience tells me to always be careful of the hospital I go in for treatment.

What an experience.
Some doctors and nurses are worse.
They don't care about their patients.

It’s too sad 😔. The most painful thing is that the authorities doesn’t care about what the citizens say concerning issues like this

The country herself is sick. We can only do our best by speaking out when necessary. Our voices will go a long way.

This is indeed, an experience no one wishes to pass through. The idea that nurses or doctors ignores patience in pains is not far fetched.

Goodluck on your entry @rhyda1

It is common in now adays world. You go to the OPD and see nurses with their phone viewing videos and pictures on social media and ignoring their duties.. thank you for stopping by sir

Hmm God what a sad experience. It’s very sad what these doctors and nurses are doing now. It’s making the health system especially the public ones really have a bad name.

That’s right.. Sometimes I sit down and wonder if they watch the news to hear what people think about them
