THE BATTLE OF NERISSA TRIDAWN: ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING BATTLE HAPPENED!

HELLO, SPLINTERLANDS COMMUNITY ! ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER BATTLE.

NERISSA TRIDAWN THE WATER WARRIOR.png

Last week, the featured card for battle is Nerissa Tridawn. I did not submitted my entry last week due to lots of school works I need to finish. Anyways, today, we are going to discuss how this monster works in the field. Nerissa Tridawn has an amazing kind of attack despite of having "no ability". The only thing that will matter on this monster is that, how are you going to use it with other cards? Do you want to know the answer? C'mon and let's start the battle!

⚔️THE BATTLE STRATEGY⚔️

Splinterlands is a strategic game. You can never win if you are not planning every battle you take. Most of the time, the secret to winning the battle lies on the card positioning and card combination. Predicting the element and finding out what element can beat it is another factor for winning. These are the formulas to win every battle in Splinterlands. It does not only depend on the card. It depends on how you will use the full potential of that card. With that, here are the Battle Rules, Strategy, and Card Lineups I used in my battle.

BATTLE RULES

RESTRICTIONS
DESCRIPTION
image.png
ABILITY RULE
This means that only monsters with magic attacks can be used in the battle.
image.png
MANA RULE
This means that the total mana that can be used in the battle is up to 13 mana only.
image.png
ELEMENTAL RULE
This shows the elements that both players are allowed to use during the battle.

STRATEGY

In order to create an effective strategy, it is important to consider the Battle Rules. One of the battle rules state that only magic attacks can be used in the battle. With that, I decided to use a summoner that can reduce the magic attack of my opponent. It is not ideal to use monsters with Void ability here because in starter cards, the only monster with Void ability comes from the Earth Unit, which is not the target Unit feature for this week. Also, due to the low mana required in the battle, this limits us on our strategy. After that, the next step is finding the perfect monster for the battle. For this battle, I look for the monster with high magic attack. Remember in low mana fights, what matters is monsters that can give high damage. You cannot pick many cards for this mana fight due to the limit, so better go to quality (the strong attackers) than quantity (number of monsters in the field).

BATTLE LINEUP

SUMMONER
THE ATTACKER
BORTUS. This summoner is a smart choice if you are planning to take down a magic user enemy. You can tell it by viewing the previous battles of your enemy. Also, it is mana-friendly and can surely satisfy the needs to win for this battle.
NERISSA TRIDAWN. This monster is the feature card and the only monster that has the capability to satisfy the battle rule and be the tank and attacker at the same time. Its high life and high attacks makes it qualify for this position.

THE SUMMONER'S EFFECT

At the beginning of the battle, both summoners contested their power. Kelya Frendul increased the speed and gave shield to Djinn Oshannus. On the other hand, Bortar did not elevate any stats of Nerissa Tridawn. Instead, it decreased the magic attack of Djinn Oshannus, leaving its official magic damage to one (1). Both summoners are strong but the question is, are they both used in the right way?

THE MONSTER'S FIGHT

After the adjustments of stats, both monsters started to attack each other. Speed has a big role on the order of attacks. Due to the high speed of Kelya Frendul, it attacks first. Even if it attacks first, its magic damage is still a problem because it becomes down to one (1). If we estimate, it only means that Kelya Frendul needs nine (9) rounds to defeat Nerissa Tridawn. For Nerissa Tridawn, it has three (3) magic damage. But the twist here is the Void ability of Djinn Oshannus. Monsters with Void ability reduces the magic attack of the attacker in half and then rounded it up. This means that Nerissa Tridawn needs five (5) rounds in order to win the battle. By just looking at that, we can tell that Nerissa Tridawn can win the battle in just a few rounds and that is exactly what happened.

⚔️CONCLUSION⚔️

Overall, we can say that Nerissa Tridawn is a strong attacker and a reliable monster when it comes to magic attacks. In terms of overall ability, we can say that it somehow lacks the advantage to stand out from the other cards due to its "no ability" condition. Despite that, the stats of this monster is enough to make it powerful in the field. I like this monster. To everyone who wants to use Nerissa Tridawn in their battle, I highly suggest picking cards that can elevate the overall power of this monster. Pick cards that can give this monster an ability. No need to worry about the elevation of stats for this monster because it is already strong in terms of that. The only thing that lacks this monster is the ability.
