The Call to Courage by Brené Brown ~ Documentary Review

avatar

Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

This post aims to immerse you without much pressure in a documentary that not only talks about real issues, which seem to have nothing to do, but that will make you enjoy thanks to Brené's charming style, in my opinion, to express herself.

Now let's talk about Brené...

Casandra Brené Brown (born 1965) is an American professor, lecturer, author, and podcast host. Brown holds the Huffington Foundation's Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work and is a visiting professor in management at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. This writer was unknown to me and after watching this and some of her book titles I plan to read her as well. Now let's talk about the documentary which by the way is available on Netflix.

BRENÉ BROWN ~ THE CALL TO COURAGE

First, it presents courage and vulnerability as part of the same formula. I was surprised, because at least for me, the two are total opposites, or at least I thought so before this. To be courageous we may think we must be unshakable, daring, cunning, but never vulnerable. If you think that, maybe you should watch the documentary.

Secondly, I am fascinated by his raw way of saying things. He is not painting a beautiful and perfect picture of life to sell a fairy tale that can cause high expectations directly proportional to the disappointments. Life is one, and yes, it's beautiful but sometimes it's not easy so whether we want to deal with it or not. I love the analogy she uses to deal with this topic.

Third and lastly, her good sense of humor and eloquence in saying things. Each of the topics she talks about is linked to one of her experiences and she tells the stories well enough to hook us in with what she says, make us laugh, and show us her points of view.

Thanks for stopping by.

With love,

Rima.

Hola.

Bienvenidos a mi blog.

Rima.
