Scarborough Fair

Final chapter

He takes out the coins and she prepares the potion with: Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. The old woman sings while she prepares what she promised, in her eagerness to deliver the order she does not realize that some powders are added to the mixture. She finishes the preparation and pours the concoction of eternal love into a jar.

He goes to the client and delivers the promised, smiles showing him those calloused gums for the time, received at the time that is paid; the lover leaves singing for the fair of Scarborough.

"Going to the Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remind me of someone who lives there
He was once a true love of mine".
Refrain taken from the song: Scarborough Fair

With his love potion, his beloved will always be his family, until the end of his days. He doesn't worry if she leaves him, she will always come back because she is under his love spell. He goes on whistling merrily through the Scarborough fair, while the old lady with a friendly gesture bids him farewell.

The lover goes along the road thinking of his great love, the one that makes him sigh and live with joy every day; even in the darkest days. He arrives home, that humble house: with unpainted doors, faded paint, but that radiates harmony with the great love of the couple.

A kiss received and the lover is so happy that nothing can ruin his happiness. After spending a few pleasant moments with his beloved, he thinks: "how stupid to have bought that love potion". He goes to throw it into the river. "In the morning I will do as I thought," he says to himself.

In the evening, the beloved goes to the kitchen to prepare a special breakfast: a soup. She looks at the potion and thinks it is seasoning; she adds a spoonful to give the soup more flavor. She serves it to the beloved and he eats it in one bite. The beloved remains stiff, and she is bewildered, desolate and with bitter tears of sadness.

The beloved suffered for his insecurity and left the beloved in that acre of earth.

Now she sings bitterly:
"Are you going to Scarborough fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remind me of someone who lives there
Was once a true love of mine...".
Refrain taken from the song: Scarborough Fair

Perejil, salvia, romero y tomillo

Perejil, salvia, romero y tomillo

Buen post, bien hecho👏👏👏
