God of War 4, time to finish what I never started. (ENG/ESP)

➤ Although the title may sound confusing, this time I have to reflect, well no, lie, I come to finish a story that I could never start at all, since many months ago I started to make a post about how was my course in this game, but for many reasons I ended up leaving it, but I do not want to leave aside how entertaining and amazing this game was for me, so I think it's worth trying to give my final opinion of this whole journey. Where I will talk about everything I liked about the game and everything I disliked, which although they are not so many things, for me they are important. So, let's start!

imagen.png

➤ Let's talk about what I think we all already know is the strongest point of the game leaving behind any part of the gameplay and things like the graphics, and that's the story. The story of this game is particularly incredible and has a fairly progressive development where we will see brutal changes between the characters, their environment and their own personal growth beyond their goal itself. Being able to see how for example Atreus, from being an unbearable child that I hated with all my soul and seemed to me an abhorrent character, began to mature more as time went by and become more tolerable, making better decisions and being much more useful, becoming a more or less solid person, and on the other hand, Kratos, from being incomprehensible and sometimes rude, began to be more empathetic and thoughtful, besides we have to take into account the development he has since the previous games, where here we are shown a vision of Kratos much more mature, intelligent, wise and who knows how to make decisions without getting carried away by his anger and being practical with what he does. I think the biggest growth is precisely in him more than in Atreus, since Atreus is a child who has lived through many strange things and in a way his attitude is understandable and above all much easier to improve.

imagen.png

➤ We will also meet many more characters that will be a great influence for the growth of our two protagonists, but I really did not give them so much importance, since more than anything are the situations they have to live what generates these changes, and all to fulfill the purpose of carrying the remains of his mother to the highest mountain, where they end up facing Norse gods, and everything possible that wants to stop them. The story is incredible and without a doubt I can recommend it without thinking twice, and above all it was the main reason why I kept playing, since the gameplay didn't seem to me as exploited as it could have been, as I feel it could have been better, but it's still more than enjoyable. So for this part, I give the story a 10/10 and it was what I liked most about the game.

imagen.png

➤ Now let's talk about the gameplay, probably the second most important resource of the game and with a lot of curious things never seen before in a God of War, but still, for me, it felt a bit incomplete. Although as Kratos we had many mechanics to attack and even defend ourselves, especially with the great addition of the skill tree where we could unlock cool stuff, I still felt that when it came to fighting I was doing the same thing over and over again, and I didn't know if it was because of the attacks or because we will constantly face the same type of enemies over and over again and we will already be more than used to those mechanics, and that for me is what makes it repetitive, since here it is not as frantic as in the previous games where we didn't even notice what the hell we were killing, we just launched attack after attack. But really, this is not my biggest complaint because this does not take away the fun, because it is more than fun gameplay itself and can be enjoyed without any problem if you do not think too much.

imagen.png

➤ My biggest complaint about the enemies are the variety that there are, there really aren't many but the problem is mostly the bosses, and that's something that disappointed me. There are incredible bosses, yes, but on the other hand 90% of the bosses or mini-bosses that we will face will always be the same, giants with a stone but of different colors or that one or another throws some air and that's it, with nothing new, with the same moves as always and the same super easy way to defeat them, because they do not present too much difficulty. And this is something that had me pretty bored on most occasions, between normal enemies momentarily we will see variations but 70% of the time will be the same.

imagen.png

imagen.png

➤ And the battles against really characteristic bosses and that if I felt incredible are counted, as for example the battle against a giant dragon that personally seems to me the second best of the game, except for the final battle that I can only tell you that it is incredible great because I do not want to spoil them. And also the battles against some Nordic gods that we will have, which in fact I think there are only two. They are very good but as I say, they were missing a lot more, at least in my opinion.

imagen.png

imagen.png

➤ And now something that is really the most captivating of the game and that is more than a truism, is the graphics, and is that the graphical aspect of this game is simply amazing and probably one of the best I've seen and experienced for the type of gameplay you have. The level of detail is sublime, modeling, environment, colors, textures, shadows, every tiny particle and reflection, every shadow, everything, everything is done in an incredible way and the best thing is that we have the possibility of photo mode to fully exploit any of the scenarios we see that most are usually incredible and look completely cool. So we can admire landscapes like you have no idea.

imagen.pngimagen.png
imagen.pngimagen.png

➤ The truth is a game that I can recommend with eyes closed because I am sure that all types of players can like it if we dedicate the necessary time to get the taste. That's all for now, thank you very much for reading, see you in the next post!

This game is one of the best, if not the best game released this year. As for the variety of enemies and attacks, I watched a video about it and the person I watched it with told me that it changes as the game progresses. So at the beginning it felt the same, but then everything felt different. I guess you don't feel that way even though you've finished the game.

It's just that yes, it's really an amazing game without a doubt. The truth is that I didn't feel that change so much, I mean, it did exist but for me it wasn't so remarkable and it kept getting repetitive, maybe for other people it's not like that and that's fine. Thanks for commenting buddy!

I actually played through this last week on Steam Deck to move on to Ragnarok. Really a step up from the Greek ark, really captures a cinematic experience.

The scenery and cinematic look of this game is incredible, and I'm sure the ones in Gow Ragnarok will probably be better.
