Hola comunidad de Hive, los que ya me conocen saben que cada vez que puedo voy a visitar a mi familia a Sinaloa (actualmente vivo en Tijuana). En una de las vacaciones, más o menos en estas fechas, pero hace 2 años, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar a mi familia, quienes viven en un pueblito muy tranquilo, rodeado de cultivos y una huerta de mangos. El caso es que la ciudad más cercana para ir de compras y hacer turismo local es Los Mochis Sinaloa, una ciudad muy bien trazada y en esta ocasión les compartiré fotografías de un tren que decoraron para las fechas de fin de año. Creo que este año lo movieron de lugar para hacerlo más accesible al público y al turismo.
Hello Hive community, those of you who already know me know that every time I have the chance I go to visit my family in Sinaloa (I currently live in Tijuana). On one of the vacations, around this time but 2 years ago, we had the opportunity to visit my family, who live in a very quiet little town, surrounded by crops and a mango farm. The closest city to go shopping is Los Mochis Sinaloa, a very well planned city and this time I will share with you pictures of a train that they decorated for the holidays. I think this year they moved it to make it more accessible to the public and tourism.
Tren navideño del ingenio azucarero en Los Mochis Sinaloa
En las siguientes fotografías podemos apreciar la decoración del tren que colocaron hace algunos años cerca del ingenio azucarero y del teatro ingenio de Los Mochis Sinaloa. El ingenio azucarero dejó de operar hace varios años, pero cuando yo estaba en la universidad, toda la ciudad olía a caramelo por las tardes. Lo malo era que se liberaba mucho hollín (carbón proveniente de la combustión en el proceso), lo cual terminaba siendo contaminación. Tanto que el carbón se tenía que limpiar de los carros, el patio y hasta del techo de las casas.
En ese tiempo, vivía con mi hermano y mi primo, por ahí del año 2003. En las tardes pasaban enfrente de la casa los carros que transportaban las cañas de las parcelas cercanas con destino al ingenio, a esos carros se les caían cañas de azúcar, las cuales juntábamos para comer como una botana, una delicia. Recuerdo que en algunos momentos teníamos demasiadas que las terminamos regalando a familiares y amigos en el pueblo.

In the following pictures we can appreciate the decoration of the train that was placed some years ago near the sugar mill and the sugar mill theater in Los Mochis Sinaloa. The sugar mill stopped operating several years ago, but when I was in college, the whole town smelled of caramel in the afternoons. The bad thing was that a lot of carbon soot (carbon from the combustion in the process) was released, which ended up as pollution. So much so that the coal had to be cleaned from the cars, the yard and even from the roof of the houses.
At that time, I lived with my brother and cousin, around 2003. In the afternoons the cars would pass in front of the house transporting the sugar canes from the nearby plots to the sugar mill, and those cars would drop sugar canes, which we would gather to eat as a snack, a delicacy. I remember that at times we had so many that we ended up giving them away to family and friends in town.
También les comparto un par de fotografías del Teatro Ingenio que tomé ese día, en donde se pueden apreciar muchas palmas decoradas para disfrutar de la ciudad por las tardes. Cabe mencionar que el tren y el teatro del que estamos hablando están rodeados de muchos centros comerciales como para disfrutar de una tarde en familia.
I also share with you a couple of pictures of the Ingenio Theater that I took that day, where you can see many palm trees decorated to enjoy the city in the evenings. It is worth mentioning that the train and the theater we are talking about are surrounded by many shopping malls to enjoy an afternoon with the family.

Está bien chila la decoración del tren, nada que ver con los barcuchos que adornan por acá en Ensenada. A veces si aplica la de allá en Sinaloa todo está mejor 🤣
