Moving Cities

Hello there! Been a long long time since I have been away from here. Quite a lot happened, and quite a lot changed. While I was away, I was out there making some prime decisions fr.

I prepared for my law entrance and actually got into the law school I was aiming for. And here's what happened next - I moved to 'The Silicon City' - Bangalore.

My parents, the overprotective lot that they are, planned a whole family trip to come and find me a place to live and check my college out. I was lucky to find myself a rental-based shared room with everything I need for my everyday survival. They provide 3 meals a day, room service, hot water, wifi, and even a Netflix subscription!🤭 Yes, all of that is included in the rent and sounded like a pretty good deal. And the best part is that this place is about a 10-minute walk from my college (and this is where I am writing this from right now, haha). So, I finalized my stay, returned home, and started packing my bags up.

Well, for most of y'all this might not seem like a task, but for the family that I come from, moving to live away from them wasn't easy convincing. I spent 21 years in the same place and this was my first time moving out. Although I thought it would go berserk, it's actually been a beautiful experience.

The goodbyes were definitely the hard part. My friends came over to see me and bid me farewell. We did reminisce our best times over the years and had some absolutely wholesome moments. My mum was almost in tears when it was time for me to leave.

It was a whole mix of emotions. As much as I'd miss my people, I was just as excited about this new chapter. I was finally getting to live and do everything by myself, without supervision. That does not include drugs, lol. I am just glad I get to do things at my own pace and choice.

Moving to this metropolitan was the start of many new possibilities. Bangalore is a place where people from different parts of the country - well let's go with different parts of the world come to with the hope to make something outta their lives. It's all about the rush, a productive lifestyle and it does come with great nightlife too. Aside from being an IT pivot, it definitely also is a student hub with a lot of fun things to do on a weekend. Oh, but I am also supposed to do my own laundry now. :')

When I moved, I did settle in with no hassle. The people around did seem quite nice and helped me with things. The food was fine too. My first day of college was pretty close and boy, was I excitedddd. I mainly couldn't wait to flaunt the black blazer we were asked to wear on Mondays. I absolutely love formals and I finally had somewhere to wear them to, hehe.

The first few days of college were just completing the registration process and orientation sessions. Everything played out really well for me and I met a few chill and nice people I immediately became friends with. They live in the same residence as I do, and so we walk to the college and return home together every day.

The first week of college was pretty fun and we were invited to the Onam (an annual cultural festival celebrated mainly in Kerala, India) party happening at a club too. We were to go dressed in Indian wear and this was my first time going partying in a full-length Kurti top. I went partying with my classmates and seniors, got stupid drunk, and even met some amazing people.

It's just been a few weeks since I moved and I think I am already in love with my life here. What I am most glad about is that I decided to move out of my comfort zone that I call home and pushed myself to come out here and live on my own terms. As much as I miss the people I left behind, I am also grateful for the people I met here.

Here I am, looking forward to great great years ahead of me. And that's all for today, folks. Have a pleasant morning, night, or whatever time of the day you are reading this. Cheers!
