AN AMAZING DISCOVERY // Unveiling the Stunning Metallic Beauty of a Jewel Wasp

Good night to all my beloved hive friends ❤️

In this post, I will share a truly extraordinary discovery, "a discovery that happened intentionally and ended with satisfaction." Let me introduce you to this jewel wasp, which most likely belongs to the family "Chrysididae."
I often see green-colored insects flying around me, but I never knew what kind of insect they were or how interesting they could be, and this discovery successfully answered all of my curiosity about them. This is the hidden beauty of one of the insects that perhaps not many people have seen, and its characteristics are truly extraordinary.
At first glance, this wasp is decorated with mesmerizing metallic colors, dominated by sparkling shades of green and blue.

However, it becomes even more interesting when we observe it from a fairly close distance.

I managed to find this particular wasp by the riverbank, precisely when some of my friends and I were swimming there. This particular wasp came without permission and then landed on one of the branches that was not too far away from me. Its very striking color managed to catch my attention and made me approach it, and indeed, the fact is that this is truly an extraordinary insect.

I managed to find this wasp in a very weak condition, but this did not make me confused, because not far from where I was swimming, there was a plantation that had just been sprayed with herbicide. Most likely, this wasp intentionally flew toward the river.

Even though it was in a weak condition, this particular wasp still looked wild and kept trying to avoid me. This is where I noticed something unique about this particular wasp: when it begins to feel threatened, it will curl its body up like a ball.

From a close distance, we can clearly see the uniqueness and beauty of this particular wasp, starting from its shape and colors to every structure of its body. However, to be able to get results this detailed, I also had to experience several failures, because this particular wasp kept avoiding me and continued flying in another direction.

What caught my attention the most was actually the spots on the surface of its body, which looked like natural carvings. The surface of its body was also quite thick and very hard, making it a fairly sturdy protection for its body.

This wasp also has a pair of large compound eyes that are black in color and look very striking compared to the color of its body. I panicked for a moment when this particular wasp extended something from its abdomen that looked very much like a stinger, but after I looked up some information about it, it turned out to be an ovipositor.

What made me feel a little uneasy was that this ovipositor is shaped like a flexible tube that can be extended and then pulled back into its abdominal segments.

Looking at the condition of this particular wasp, I cannot be sure whether it will survive or die. Usually, when a plantation has just been sprayed with herbicide, it will certainly cause many animals and small insects to become poisoned.

But the question is, is that the wrong thing to do.?
My answer as a farmer is that this kind of action should not be viewed from only one perspective. For example, this action has a negative impact if we look at it from an ethical point of view. However, if we look at it from the perspective of economics and food production, this is actually the right action because it can reduce the population of pests.

However, this is about my extraordinary discovery, so let us just focus on the beauty of this particular wasp.
I may have spent dozens of minutes just to get these few pictures, but this is a great satisfaction for me because through these pictures, we can see the beauty and uniqueness of a jewel wasp, whose beauty is often overlooked.
