WELCOME TO MEDAN CITY // Exploring and enjoying the panoramic view of Medan City from a height of 25 meters.

In this post, I'd like to share my experience of traveling to the city of Medan. Medan is one of the most well-known cities in Indonesia, as it is the country's third-largest business hub,the city is also famous for its rich cultural diversity and its legendary culinary scene, making every visit a truly unforgettable experience. In fact, this was just a short trip that we took after returning from one of North Sumatra's most popular tourist destinations, Pamah View. Our goal was quite simple—to take a leisurely stroll while observing the unique differences that make each region special.

This was my last photo at Pamah View. On my left is my aunt, and on my right is my uncle,we left Pamah View at around 3:00 pm ,and headed straight to the city of Medan. Since Pamah View is not very far from Medan, the journey took us only about an hour.

This iconic "Welcome to Medan City" gate marked the beginning of our journey into the capital of North Sumatra. The moment I saw it, I became incredibly excited because I knew something extraordinary was waiting for us. By then, it was already 4:00 pm, and with the remaining time we had, we decided to take a drive around the city and explore Medan.

Not far from the gate, I was immediately greeted by the stunning sight of a magnificent twin-tower building. This landmark is known as Manhattan Tower and is considered one of the most iconic buildings in Medan. I don't know much about this building myself, but based on the information I found, it is a residential apartment complex.

With such limited time, it was impossible for us to explore every corner of the city. At exactly 6:00 pm, one of my friends suggested a great place to enjoy a panoramic view of Medan from above,that place was on the fifth floor of Carrefour.

Plaza Medan Fair, commonly known as Carrefour is one of the largest shopping and entertainment centers in Medan, North Sumatra. The building has five floors and also features a rooftop parking area. That was exactly why we came here—to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Medan from above.

From a height of about 25 meters, I could see the stunning view of Medan city, where countless buildings stretched as far as the eye could see and this created a magnificent urban landscape that blended beautifully with the beautiful afternoon sky. Time continued to pass and we only needed to wait a few more minutes to be able to enjoy the view of the sunset.

As I said before, a stunning miracle occurred when the charm of the sunset slowly began to decorate the sky of Medan city with a warm orange color. In my opinion, this is a very harmonious view, because on one side I can see the natural scenery and artificial beauty at the same time.
