Break of day

Having to get rid of early morning errands and tasks are always the toughest ones, for me 8AM is early enough, 9AM to 10AM is the sweet spot.

Problem is, even if I go to bed at around 1AM to 2AM, I won't fall asleep before 3AM, meaning I'll probably get about 5 hours of sleep, which surely isn't enough, just an hour shy. 6 to 7 hours of proper sleep is a minimum for me, that too if it goes uninterrupted. If I get that much sleep, then I'll be able to take on 10 to 12 hours of work.

But, I'll need some proper breakfast too, if I get some proper early morning breakfast then I can go on without even having lunch.

Now, what really is the ideal breakfast? For me, it's undoubtedly a decent portion of protein and some flatbread. In Bangla, কলো বা লাল ভুনা আর পোরাটা. Beef, mutton, chicken, you name it, as long as the gravy is good and there's a decent few chunks of protein in there, I'm good to go.

After I'm done eating, a sip of some proper milk tea will fill up my energy levels to a 100%.

Yet, the problem was with the area I was in, I didn't know much about the surroundings, nor did I know about the food and restaurants here.

Also, at around 8AM streets were still fairly empty, which is not a common everyday scene here.

So, after I was done with my early morning tasks, I hopped on a rickshaw and requested the kind man behind the handlebars to take me to the place that serves the best breakfast. That was my best bet, because rickshaw-pullers are the experts, so if they can't give you directions, then no one can.

After a 5 minute rickshaw ride I found myself in front of Khadem Hotel. There were other restaurants too, but hygiene didn't seem to be on their list of priorities. Some of them were packed above the capacity as well. And half of the restaurants were closed for some reason, which is odd, because most of these restaurants all around the city open at around 7AM.

Fortunately, this little restaurant was open, and they say it's quite popular here. It was a fairly big place, filled with quite a lot of people too.

So, I found myself a little seat in the middle and ordered away.

The order? Obviously the usual, কলো বা লাল ভুনা আর পোরাটা. A decent serving of beef curry and 2 pieces of flatbread(I ordered the second poratha later on).

Perfection!

After I devoured my breakfast in a matter of minutes, I then ordered some milk tea. Milk tea would be the finisher, the cherry on top.

Now, a breakfast like this for just one guy is quite an extravagant option I'd say. I spent just over $3 USD for this meal, and if I went for the usual lentils and mixed veggies(which is the most common breakfast combo in our country) instead of the curry, then at least 3 people could've easily had breakfast for just $3 dollars.

Yet, it's not something I do daily, only every 3 to 4 months I go for these. Breakfast is always better at home, and its healthier at home, that's for sure. And the same breakfast I had here, if it were made at home, then according to the portions it would've cost me around a dollar only, maybe less.

But sometimes you have to be a little free and easy, "YOLO" a bit, every now and then, because you just can't put a price tag on such experiences.

Sometimes you just have to visit a restaurant packed full of people and choose to sit alone and enjoy your meal. Look around a bit, focus, don't chew too fast, and try to find some peace among all the chaos.

Amidst the many not so simple aspects of life, sometimes, simplicity can be the solution...

The combination of many momentums and coincidence can only bring this sort of one sweet-moment.
It is not planned, not expected, nor calculated, just happens, only to be realized that it happened.
That is what you called...untitled.gif
of momentums!

And that's what makes it special. ☀️

Serendipitous perfection. 🖤

Contents with foods should have 'Food Spoiler Alerts' People like me come across these at midnight with a craving to go nowhere. That curry looks so tempting. 😛

I haven't experienced this yet.
