A Little While With "Rebe" [Eng/Esp]
I have never been one to have many friends, the truth is that I haven't found it necessary, and a few good ones have been more than enough. Some are by my side and others are not always by my side, but when we can finally see each other, everything is as it was the last time.
Happy day #familyandfriends friends, hope you had a super weekend! Mine was supposed to be quite busy, in fact I made the comment in my previous post, but one thing is what we propose and another what God disposes and all my plans changed because my little Miranda got sick and of course her health comes first.
So I had to cancel everything, be attentive to her health and postpone what could be postponed and what could not, let it go. But as I told you a moment ago, one thing is what we think or plan and another thing is what happens, and early Thursday morning I received a message from Rebeca, a very dear friend who moved from the island to another state about four years ago.
Every time she comes, even for a few days, she lets me know so we can get together since her house is very close to mine and although we don't write to each other every day we have a great affection for each other and when we see each other it is as if we had never stopped being together.
We have been friends with Rebeca for about eight years, and she is another of those special people I met thanks to my children, since her son Andres was my son Matias' classmate from preschool to fourth grade (now both are in first year of high school) when they decided to move from the island.
Luckily they keep their house here and come several times a year to check that everything is going well with her and to rest a little, but of course they are weekend trips or just for a few more days due to their occupations, but every time she comes she lets me know to see us even for a few hours, and she did just that this time.
She would be staying from Thursday to Wednesday, but on Sunday she had reservations in a hotel until Wednesday, so I only had until that day to share with her, but with Miranda sick she was quite complicated and the truth is that I was very sad because since December we didn't see each other, but luckily on Saturday night Miranda felt much better and on Sunday morning, finally I could go to her house to visit her.
As I told you at the beginning, we don't write to each other every day, but every time we see each other it's as if we had been together the day before.
We embrace each other with the same affection and immediately start catching up on how our lives and our respective children are doing. We talked about everything, so much and so fast that before we knew it, it was 2:00 pm and I had arrived at her house at 10:00 am!
Her husband at one point in the conversation brought us a soft drink and then a cup of coffee, but finally after many hours of talking (it felt like seconds), we made ourselves some ham and cheese sandwiches while we continued talking.
A few hours later it was our turn to drive them to the hotel where they would be staying and we said goodbye with a big hug, happy to have been able to see each other and have even a few hours to catch up on how our lives were going. And I hadn't finished arriving home when I received a message from her "friend, talk to Claudi... I want to see her too ".
I have told you about Claudi many times before, she is the only one of my group of friends who is still on the island and she, Rebe and I used to get together all the time to talk and for the kids to play too. So we will see if we can organize something before Rebeca has to go back to Caracas and the three of us can get together.
Luckily Claudi also lives very close, so it is quite possible that we can have our mini reunion and the three of us can sit down like we did a few years ago to talk about everything and enjoy each other's company.
And as you can see, friendship is capable of transcending distance and time, in fact we don't even need to write or talk to each other every day, true friendship is there waiting for that reunion to pick up right where we left off.
Today the time flew by, and five hours seemed like minutes. We didn't have enough time to talk as much as we wanted to but we were grateful for the time together.

Nunca he sido de tener muchos amigos, la verdad no lo he visto necesario, y es que con unos pocos buenos ha sido más que suficiente. Algunos están a mi lado y otros no lo están siempre, pero cuando al fin podemos vernos, todo vuelve a estar y ser como la última vez.
Feliz día amigos de #familyandfriends, espero hayan tenido un súper fin de semana! El mío se suponía sería bastante movido, de hecho les hice el comentario justamente en mi post anterior, pero una cosa es lo que nosotros proponemos y otra lo que Dios dispone y todos mis planes cambiaron debido a que mi pequeña Miranda enfermó y por supuesto su salud está primero.
Así que tocó cancelar todo, estar atenta a su salud y posponer lo que podía ser pospuesto y lo que no, dejarlo pasar. Pero como les dije hace un momento, una cosa es lo que pensamos o planificamos y otra lo que sucede, y el día jueves tempranito en la mañana recibo el mensaje de Rebeca, una amiga muy querida que hace unos cuatro años se mudó de la isla a otro estado.
Ella cada vez que viene, así sea por unos pocos días me avisa para reunirnos ya que su casa está muy cerquita de la mía y aunque no somos de escribirnos a diario nos tenemos un cariño enorme y cuando nos vemos es como si nunca hubiésemos dejado de estar juntas.
Con Rebeca somos amigas hace unos ocho años, y es otro de esos seres especiales que conocí gracias a mis hijos, ya que su hijo Andrés fué compañerito de mi hijo Matías desde preescolar hasta cuarto grado (ahora ambos están en primer año de secundaria) cuando decidieron mudarse de la isla.
Por suerte conservan su casa aquí y vienen varias veces al año para verificar que todo marche bien con ella y para descansar un poco, pero por supuesto son viajes de fin de semana o por sólo unos días más debido a sus ocupaciones, pero cada vez que viene me avisa para vernos aunque sea unas pocas horas, y justo eso hizo en está oportunidad.
Se estaría quedando desde el jueves hasta el miércoles, pero el Domingo tenía reservaciones en un hotel hasta el miércoles precisamente, por lo que sólo tenía hasta ése día para compartir con ella, pero con Miranda enferma estaba bastante complicada y la verdad eso me tenía muy triste porque desde diciembre no nos veíamos, pero por suerte el sábado en la noche Miranda se sintió mucho mejor y el domingo en la mañana, finalmente pude ir su casa a visitarla.
Como les dije al principio, no nos escribimos a diario, pero cada vez que nos vemos es como si el día anterior hubiésemos estado juntas.
Nos abrazamos con el mismo afecto y de inmediato comenzamos a ponernos al día sobre cómo están nuestras vidas y nuestros respectivos hijos. Hablamos de todo un poco, tanto y tan rápido que sin darnos cuenta se dieron las 2:00 pm y yo había llegado a su casa a las 10:00 am!
Es que ni hambre nos dió de tan entretenidas que estábamos, su esposo en un punto de la conversación nos llevó un refresco y luego una taza de café, pero finalmente después de un muchas horas hablando (se sintieron segundos), nos preparamos unos emparedados de jamón y queso mientras seguíamos conversando.
Unas horas después nos tocó llevarlos al hotel donde se quedarían y nos despedimos con un fuerte abrazo, felices de habernos podido ver y tener aunque sea unas pocas horas para ponernos al día sobre cómo estaban nuestras vidas. Y no había terminado de llegar a casa cuando recibí un mensaje suyo "amiga, cuadra con Claudi... la quiero ver también a ella".
De Claudi ya les he hablado antes muchas veces, es la única de mi grupo de amigas que aún está en la isla y ella, Rebe y yo solíamos reunirnos siempre a conversar y para que los niños jugaran también. Así que ya veremos si podemos organizar algo antes de que Rebeca tenga que regresar a Caracas y reunirnos las tres.
Por suerte Claudi también vive muy cerca, así que es bastante posible que se pueda dar nuestro mini encuentro y sentarnos las tres como hace unos años atrás a hablar de todo un poco y disfrutar de nuestra compañía.
Y como pueden ver, la amistad es capaz de trascender la distancia y el tiempo, de hecho ni siquiera necesitamos escribirnos o hablar todos los días, la verdadera amistad está ahí esperando ese reencuentro para retomar las cosas justo donde las dejamos.
Hoy el tiempo pasó volando, y cinco horas parecieron minutos. No nos alcanzó para hablar todo lo que queríamos pero agradecimos el tiempo juntas.

Que bueno que se encontraron, recargaron bastante esas baterías, sé lo que se siente que el tiempo pase volando en esas conversación tan buenas, que cómico que el esposo sea quien les llevaba cositas para comer.
Yo también soy de pocas amigas, es que con las que tengo me siento tan completa y llena que no me hacen faltan más, pero siempre es bueno tener amigos nuevos, hay que abrir el corazón.

And in times like this, it becomes difficult to meet each other again and share those moment we've shared in previous times. Well, thank for social media and telephones that can keep us still connected... but whenever we have the time for a reunion, we will remember all the past experiences and all we've shared. The beautiful moments and sad moments; moments of joy and sorrow.

Primero que nada me alegro de que la princesa miranda esté mucho mejor. Por otro lado amo las amistades así, no son digamos que las más frecuentes en cuando a chat o visitas pero cuando pasa es con todos los hierros.
