"Il nonno pizzería artesnal" Mi experiencia [Esp/En]

El jueves pasado se estuvo realizando por primera vez la Global Pizza Party en Isla Margarita en Il Nonno Pizzería, una pizzería artesanal con una amplia trayectoria en la Isla, y de una de las consentidas por locales y visitantes por sus deliciosas pizzas hechas a la manera tradicional en horno de leña, así que en nuestra visita tomé algunas fotos y quise compartir mi experiencia con respecto a la atención a un grupo de más de 50 personas, cosa para nada fácil, sobre todo porque se planificó todo casi de un día para otro.

Last Thursday the Global Pizza Party was held for the first time on Margarita Island at Il Nonno Pizzeria, an artisan pizzeria with a long history on the island, and one of the most loved by locals and visitors for its delicious pizzas made in the traditional way in a wood oven, so during our visit I took some pictures and wanted to share my experience regarding the attention to a group of more than 50 people, which was not easy, especially because everything was planned almost from one day to the next.

Toda la aventura inicio el día martes, faltando dos días para el evento, logrando coordinar prácticamente todo vía telefónica gracias a la excelente atención de su gerente de bebidas y alimentos quien nos facilitó el menú con precios incluidos además de permitirnos llevar nuestras bebidas (no alcohólicas), sin contar que no nos cobrarían el porcentaje por servicio, lo que fue realmente genial, y el día del evento nos permitieron desde temprano el acceso al local para organizarlo todo.

Ellos se encargaron de disponer las mesas de manera que todo el grupo pudiese estar junto, y a mi parecer todo resultó perfecto pues armaron dos mesas larguísimas para poder sentarnos lo más cerca posible y disfrutar de la mejor manera de nuestra actividad, y cómo no hacerlo estando en un lugar absolutamente hermoso, al aire libre con una iluminación realmente linda que crea un ambiente totalmente acogedor, sin contar con que la ambientación musical nos permitió llevar una velada tranquila, conversar sin tener que estar a los gritos como sucede en algunos locales por el alto volúmen de la música, así que fue simplemente perfecto.

The whole adventure started on Tuesday, two days before the event, and we were able to coordinate almost everything over the phone thanks to the excellent attention of their food and beverage manager who gave us the menu with prices included and allowed us to bring our drinks (non-alcoholic), not to mention that they would not charge us a percentage for service, which was really great, and on the day of the event they allowed us early access to the venue to organize everything.

They were in charge of arranging the tables so that the whole group could be together, and in my opinion everything was perfect because they set up two very long tables so we could sit as close as possible and enjoy the best way of our activity, and how not to do it being in an absolutely beautiful place, outdoors with a really nice lighting that creates a totally cozy atmosphere, not to mention that the musical setting allowed us to have a quiet evening, talking without having to be shouting as happens in some places because of the high volume of music, so it was just perfect.

En cuanto a la atención esa noche, debo decir que tengo tengo opiniones divididas porque aunque los mesoneros estuvieron atentos para ayudar desde el momento en que llegamos, al momento de servir las mesas no pudieron seguir ninguna de las instrucciones que se les dieron con respecto a qué sabores de pizza servir, cómo distribuirlas, y el ritmo en el que deberían servirlas, simplemente hicieron lo que quisieron, de hecho no recargaron las bebidas en las mesas aún cuando al retirarnos nos enteramos que habían quedado bebidas sin servir, por lo que no quedé del todo conforme.

Entiendo que no es lo mismo atender una mesa con 5 o 10 personas que atender 50 al mismo tiempo, pero para eso se le dieron instrucciones claras, tanto a los mesoneros como a la gerente de alimentos y bebidas. Lo único que tenían que hacer era seguirlas porque incluso en lugar prácticamente solo estuvimos nosotros durante toda la noche.

As for the service that night, I must say that I have divided opinions because although the waiters were attentive to help from the moment we arrived, at the time of serving the tables they could not follow any of the instructions they were given regarding what flavors of pizza to serve, how to distribute them, and the pace at which they should serve them, they simply did what they wanted, in fact they did not refill the drinks on the tables even when when we left we found out that there were drinks left without serving, so I was not entirely satisfied.

I understand that it is not the same to serve a table with 5 or 10 people as it is to serve 50 at the same time, but clear instructions were given to both the waiters and the food and beverage manager. The only thing they had to do was to follow them because even in the place we were practically alone all night long.

En cuanto a las pizzas, se cancelaron un total de 25 de distintos sabores, entre los que estaban la tradicional margarita, la prosciutto, la peperonni que no podía faltar y la biancaneve que quisimos probar esa noche.

Como les comenté son pizzas elaboradas en horno a leña, lo que les aporta un sabor totalmente diferente, y por mi parte la prosciutto y la de peperoni fueron mis favoritas, porque realmente sentí que la Margarita y la Biancaneve carecían de sabor. Por ejemplo la Biancanieve aunque era bastante sencilla (mozarella y aceite de oliva), yo esperaba encontrarme con una abundante cantidad de queso y con el inconfundible sabor del aceite de oliva, pero ni lo uno ni lo otro, de hecho sentí que a todas las pizzas les faltó una buena cantidad de queso y de salsa.

As for the pizzas, a total of 25 pizzas of different flavors were cancelled, among which were the traditional margherita, the prosciutto, the peperonni that could not be missed and the biancaneve that we wanted to try that night.

As I mentioned, these pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven, which gives them a totally different flavor, and for my part, the prosciutto and the peperoni were my favorites, because I really felt that the Margarita and the Biancaneve lacked flavor. For example the Biancanieve although it was quite simple (mozzarella and olive oil), I was expecting to find an abundant amount of cheese and the unmistakable flavor of olive oil, but neither one nor the other, in fact I felt that all the pizzas lacked a good amount of cheese and sauce.

Dicho esto, debo decir que he ido antes a esta pizzería con familiares y amigos y las pizzas fueron totalmente diferentes, de hecho por eso estuvimos de acuerdo en ir ahí, porque aparte de lo bello de sus espacios las pizzas eran absolutamente deliciosas, así que la verdad no sé si se trató de la cantidad de personas al mismo tiempo lo que causó todo el descontrol que hubo, o fue que su calidad bajó, por lo que decidí darle otra oportunidad y regresar con mi familia a ver qué tal.

En conclusión, es un lugar precioso, con una carta bastante amplia con los platos más representativos de la cocina italiana, con un personal amable y dispuesto, con pizzas que tomando en cuenta la experiencia de ese día pudieran mejorar, y que debo probar nuevamente en otras circunstancias.

That said, I must say that I have been to this pizzeria before with family and friends and the pizzas were totally different, in fact that's why we agreed to go there, because apart from the beauty of its spaces the pizzas were absolutely delicious, so the truth is I don't know if it was the amount of people at the same time that caused all the uncontrol that there was, or it was that its quality dropped, so I decided to give it another chance and return with my family to see how it was.

In conclusion, it is a beautiful place, with a fairly extensive menu with the most representative dishes of Italian cuisine, with a friendly and willing staff, with pizzas that taking into account the experience of that day could be improved, and that I should try again in other circumstances.
