Report #5.... Growing [Eng/Esp]
Time goes by with amazing speed and we can see it in the smallest detail, even in our gardens! In fact, I don't know if any of you remember my seedbed-on-eggshells and the last update of the same. Well today I bring you some new pictures that will leave you with your mouths open, so here we go with the 5th Report!!!
Happy #hivegarden friends, I hope you are feeling great. It's been a month since my last time in the community with the report number 4 of my tomato and paprika plants, so I decided it was time for an update, and it's that much they have grown in all this time. In fact some of them already have flowers and even fruits.
Yes, as you read! Even though they have not been transplanted to a larger space they have started to flower and by now some small tomatoes are peeking out of a few of them.
As you may remember in the last update I showed you the platform where we placed them to protect them from the ants, and they still remain on it as we have done quite well, since the ants have not managed to climb and damage them, but the time has come to transplant them because the bags in which they were planted are already too small and they need a larger amount of soil so they can develop better.
So now a new stage is coming and we have some decisions ahead of us, like for example to define if we will transplant them directly to the soil or if on the contrary we will buy the special bags in the nursery and fertilized soil to transplant them.
The issue with this is that it would be quite expensive for us to buy both the soil and the bags, since we are dealing with many plants, so we have thought about the option of looking for the soil on our own in some areas close to home, where the soil is much better.
On the other hand if we decide to plant it in the ground directly we run the risk of being attacked by ants unless we make use of the ant poison, which although we did not want to do, it is very possible that we take it as an option to give our plants enough space to grow and develop.
For now as you can see in the pictures despite being in a very limited space they have grown a lot, to the point that many have begun to produce, but we understand that they really need more space so it is a decision that we must take very soon.
At this point I must say that I am really surprised and happy with how they have been growing despite the circumstances and the little space they have, as they are quite healthy and very large. I think we are not doing so bad!
For now I hope that between this week and next week we will make a decision and that of course it will be the best for them so that they can grow properly and bear much more fruit. And if you don't mind I would like to get some suggestions on what decision to make. For the rest of the week they will continue where they are.

El tiempo transcurre con una rapidez asombrosa y lo podemos ver en el más mínimo detalle, incluso en nuestros jardines! De hecho, no se si alguno de ustedes recuerda mi semillero en cáscaras de huevo y la última actualizacion del mismo. Pues hoy les traigo unas fotitos nuevas que los dejarán con la boca abierta, así que aquí vamos con el 5to Reporte!!
Feliz día amigos de #hivegarden, espero se encuentren súper bien!. Hace ya un mes de mi última vez en la comunidad con el reporte número 4 de mis plantas de tomate y pimentón, por lo que decidí que ya era hora de una actualización, y es que es muchísimo lo que han crecido en todo este tiempo. De hecho algunas ya tienen flores e incluso frutos.
Si, como leen! Aun cuando no han sido transplantadas a un espacio más grande comenzaron a florecer y por ahora algunos pequeños tomates se asoman en unas cuantas.
Como recordarán en la última actualización les mostré la plataforma donde las colocamos para protegerlas de las hormigas, y aún permanecen en ella pues nos ha ido bastante bien, ya que las hormigas no han logrado subir y dañarlas, pero ha llegado el momento de trasplantarlas pues las bolsitas en las que fueron sembradas ya les quedan muy pequeñas y necesitan una mayor cantidad de tierra para que puedan desarrollarse mejor.
Así que ahora se nos viene una nueva etapa y tenemos algunas decisiones por delante, como por ejemplo definir si las transplantaremos directo al suelo o si por el contrario compraremos las bolsas especiales en el vivero y tierra abonada para transplantarlas.
El tema con esto es que resultaría bastante costoso para nosotros el comprar tanto la tierra como las bolsas, ya que se trata de muchas plantas, así que hemos pensado en la opción de buscar la tierra por nuestra cuenta en algunas zonas cercanas a casa, donde la tierra es mucho mejor.
Por otro lado si decidimos sembrarla en la tierra directamente corremos el riesgo de que sean atacadas por las hormigas a menos que hagamos uso del venemo para hormigas, cosa que aunque no queríamos hacer, es muy posible que la tomemos como una opción para brindarles a nuestras plantas suficiente espacio para crecer y desarrollarse.
Por ahora como pueden ver en las fotografías a pesar de estar en un espacio muy limitado han crecido muchísimo, al punto de que muchas han comenzado a producir, pero entendemos que realmente necesitan un mayor espacio por lo que es una decisión que debemos tomar muy pronto.
En este punto debo decir que estoy realmente sorprendida y feliz por como han ido creciendo a pesar de las circunstancias y del poco espacio que tienen, pues están bastante sanas muy grandes. Creo que no lo estamos haciendo tan mal!
Por lo pronto espero que entre esta semana y la próxima tomemos una decisión y que por supuesto sea la mejor para ellas para que puedan crecer como corresponde y dar muchísimos más frutos. Y si no les molesta me gustaría me dejaran algunas sugerencias sobre qué decisión tomar. Por lo pronto el resto de la semana seguirán donde están.

Yo las plantaría en la tierra directamente. He leído que si colocas cal alrededor de la planta, las hormigas no pasarán hasta el tallo. La cuestión estaría en estar atentos por si llueve y la cal se les quita
Eso es lo que creo, pero el problema no es arriba, esas condenadas hormigas tienen nidos por todos lados y desde la raíz se comen la planta. Creo compraré veneno. No lo hacía por Brownie, pero pues ya no está.

El veneno o la cal lo puedes echar por alrededor y no encima de las plantas.

Tienes razón, ya es tiempo de moverlas de las bolsas, pues están mucho más grandes y necesitan espació.

Chama si, son súper nobles, para estar ahí están bellas pero sé necesitan más que ese espacio. Así que a ver qué hacemos con ellas!!
