A feature film of pure action and stuntmen, is the debut feature of Diego Velasco, a Venezuelan filmmaker who previously demonstrated his talent with several short films that were recognized in international festivals.
La Hora Cero has accumulated more than 410,000 spectators, making it one of the most watched films in the history of my country, with a total gross in dollars of 3,947,360 in 24 weeks of release.
This film was born from the director's love for this fast-paced genre and hence its story about a very bad man who does something for someone else.

Plot
The formula used in this film evokes, in a curious and interesting way, that of many American feature films. From the beginning, the film has an anti-hero with a backstory that instantly arouses interest.
This would be alias The Grim Reaper, a cold-blooded hitman whose main mission in this script is not to assassinate his target, but to save her just after he has almost killed her. This target turns out to be Lady Di, a good childhood friend with whom he had lost contact many years ago and who was also pregnant.
The story starts from a very strong base, a dramatic situation that does not allow us to think of many alternatives to get out of it.
Repentant and with his head full of memories of his childhood, Reaper decides to risk everything and run to an outpatient clinic in the hope of saving Ladydi. However, on the way, an inconvenient event occurs: he is not in a position to operate. So the Grim Reaper has no choice but to go to the private clinic Jose Gregorio Hernandez and take control by force with the help of his anti-social associates.
By this point, we realise that the sum of all these problems adds up to an ambitious feature film.
The main idea is that of a gang full of anti-socials forcibly taking over a private structure with a large number of hostages (many in need of medical attention) at the risk of facing police forces and a great deal of media attention. All this to save one human being (later, several) from death. This main idea offers intrigue, very realistic and intense drama and a good amount of action scenes.

I have seen this film about five times and I feel that it is a reflection on the Venezuela of the last 20 years. It shows us a country on strike, with corrupt politicians, a tabloid press where in a certain way the figure of the delinquent is justified or how the citizen can mythologise a "bad guy", protected by social injustice.
Everything seems to be well reflected but the film remains superficial, it does not create possible answers and practically ends up justifying that it is better to kill or "eradicate" a problem than to try to reflect on it, and given the injustices of the social system it is better to steal, kill or go on strike than to work.
Excelente post tocayo, un gran abrazo.
