Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is a game of puzzles and platforms, which we will have to overcome to complete the linear levels that offers an adventure that we will not forget.
In this occasion, the history of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is focused on the search and rescue of the overwhelmed prince Selius, who is not able to control his magic, producing that the nightmares of the people become real.
In order to overcome the different challenges, we will use the unique skills of each one of the trio of heroes in this story: Zoya, the thief; Pontius, the warrior, and Amadeus, the wizard. Zoya uses a bow with normal, frozen or fire arrows as her weapon, although she also helps herself with a rope when she wants to climb or hook herself to certain places or tie up objects. Pontius has a sword with which he will attack the enemies and will protect himself with a shield that can divert light and water on its surface. Finally, Amadeus with his magic can create and move objects that are on stage.
We must use elements of the environment to build, with creativity and intelligence, our solutions to the puzzles and move forward in an entertaining way. The first puzzles in Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince are simple and obvious, this is with the aim of familiarizing us with the dynamics of the game and, as we progress, we will miss the simple and constantly face difficult and complicated puzzles.
In each phase, we will gain a new power, thus keeping the adventure varied and fun. Our heroes will have a tree of skills that will increase each time we complete puzzles or obtain items, giving us certain advantages (such as teleportation or the ability to conjure up new objects) over the challenges to come.
The confrontations with the bosses are entertaining, their dynamic consists of finding the exact moment to be able to cause damage to our enemies. Most of the time we will only be able to control a hero and we will not have to worry about dying, because the resurrections of our character and his companions are immediate.
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince has a cooperative mode (both local and online) that adjusts puzzles to be more challenging and to force us to synchronize with our partners to complete them. Each player will be able to incarnate one of the three heroes, although now up to four players are possible.
The artistic section of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is beautiful, exclusively 2D, characterized by scenarios full of details and colors. The scenes seem to be taken from the classic tales of magic, for the castles covered with fog or the forests replete with mushrooms that shine.
With a fantasy soundtrack, the usual style of music of this saga, and quite varied sound effects, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince promises us an immersive and wonderful adventure.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince es un juego de puzles y plataformas, las cuales tendremos que superar para lograr completar los niveles lineales que nos ofrece una aventura que no olvidaremos.
En esta ocasión, la historia de Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince se enfoca en la búsqueda y rescate del abrumado príncipe Selius, quien no es capaz de controlar su magia, produciendo que las pesadillas de las personas se vuelvan reales.
Para poder sobreponernos a los diferentes desafíos, usaremos las habilidades únicas de cada uno del trío de héroes que protagoniza esta historia: Zoya, la ladrona; Pontius, el guerrero, y Amadeus, el mago. Zoya utiliza como arma un arco con flechas normales, congelantes o de fuego, aunque también se ayuda con una cuerda cuando quiere trepar o engancharse a ciertos lugares o atar objetos. Pontius posee una espada con la cual atacará a los enemigos y se protegerá con un escudo que puede desviar luz y agua en su superficie. Por último, Amadeus con su magia puede crear y mover objetos que se encuentren en el escenario.
Deberemos utilizar elementos del entorno para así construir, con creatividad e inteligencia, nuestras soluciones a los puzles y avanzar de manera entretenida. Los primeros puzles de Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince son simples y evidentes, esto es con el objetivo de familiarizarnos con la dinámica del juego y, a medida que vayamos progresando, extrañaremos lo sencillo y nos enfrentaremos constantemente a puzles difíciles y complicados.
En cada fase, ganaremos un nuevo poder, manteniendo así la aventura variada y divertida. Nuestros héroes dispondrán de un árbol de habilidades que aumentará cada vez que completemos puzles o consigamos ítems, otorgándonos ciertas ventajas (como teletransportación o la habilidad de conjurar nuevos objetos) sobre los retos venideros.
Los enfrentamientos con los jefes resultan entretenidos, su dinámica consiste en encontrar el momento exacto para poderle causar daño a nuestros enemigos. La mayoría de las veces solo seremos capaces de controlar a un héroe y no nos tendremos que preocupar por si morimos, pues las resurrecciones de nuestro personaje y sus compañeros son inmediatas.
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince tiene modo cooperativo (tanto local como online) que ajusta los puzles para ser más desafiantes y que nos obliguen a sincronizarnos con nuestros compañeros para completarlos. Cada jugador podrá encarnar a uno de los tres héroes, aunque ahora se pueden hasta cuatro jugadores.
El apartado artístico de Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince es hermoso, exclusivamente 2D, caracterizado por los escenarios llenos de detalles y colores. Los escenarios parecen sacados de los cuentos clásicos de magia, por los castillos cubiertos de neblina o los bosques repletos de hongos que brillan.
Con una banda sonora de fantasía, el estilo de música habitual de esta saga, y efectos de sonido bastantes variados, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince nos promete una aventura inmersiva y maravillosa.
