Dear My Friends,..

Dear My Friends,.. Christmas is still celebrated by Christians. Gather family with fun that can be enjoyed. Delicious Christmas dishes served with love.

Gifts for children so that there is always hope of seeing the coming Christmas are always given as a sign of joy. Ornaments of knick-knacks and Christmas trees are never left behind as if they are a must for displaying them.

Christmas tree and symbols

Finally, the celebration of Christmas Day is like nothing is lacking without the presence of a fir tree with decorative knick-knacks ranging from lights, small gifts, ribbons to glossy paper, so that it is like a symbol.
As a celebration of birth, of course, Christmas has more value because it is an important moment. As we know Christmas comes from the Latin Dies Natalis, which means birthday.
The birth of Jesus is believed to bring a ray of light to the oneness of God and become a way of salvation for his people. No wonder people will look for symbols on the Christmas tree. The Christmas tradition with fir trees certainly doesn't come from the tropics.

The tradition of celebrating Christmas comes from cold climates. At Christmas the northern hemisphere was experiencing winter and they saw a tree that could survive the winter. Fir is one of the trees that remains strong in the midst of snow and winter than other tree species. so that the fir tree is considered to represent eternal and eternal life.
Some believe that spruce grows from a fallen oak tree to produce new and blessed life.

Likewise, the decorative knick-knacks on the Christmas tree. The lamp is a change from the previous era. At first lighting using candles around the Christmas tree. However, the development of technology has made lamp more practical. lamps or candles are sources of light and warmth. Just as the coming of Jesus is a light for a journey of life. His presence gives warmth because he hugs everyone to go together towards God.

Deforestation and Alternative Christmas trees.

Even though it is only held once a year, the use of a Christmas tree made of fir must still receive attention. because if it is not done wisely, it will certainly reduce the number of pine trees in the forest. Imagine, if no house had one Christmas tree made of fir, of course there would be so many firs cut down.
Though the growth of pine trees is not as fast as industrial plants. This plant takes a long time to become a Christmas tree. If each year is cut down without any rejuvenation, it will destroy the cypress vegetation.

Considering that the rate of fir cutting as a Christmas tree is still high, we have to be more creative. We shouldn't cut down fir trees just to make a Christmas tree. we must be able to change the mindset of the Christmas tree is fir.
We have to come up with creative ideas such as using recycled materials so that we can add to the cheerful Christmas atmosphere without cutting down the fir trees.
Scraps of used wood, plastic and others can be arranged with various decorative lights so that they become an alternative Christmas tree. With a little touch of art it will become a great work that is no less than a Christmas tree from fir.
Besides being able to celebrate the joy of Christmas, we can also reduce deforestation so that we can participate in nature conservation.

Thus my writing this time may be useful.

Best regard from Indonesia.
