Coruña day 5: MUNCYT
MUNCYT, museo nacional de ciencia y tecnología (national museum of science and technology) is located at the end of the Riazor beach, close to the millennium obelisk, in A Coruña city. The building is a cube of concrete and glass that has got a few architecture awards. At the entrance a square with an old locomotive exposes the nature of the museum.
The museum has 9 floors, although two of them are closed for adaptation to covid safety rules. It has a vast collection of scientific instruments and electronic devices.
The most emblematic piece of the museum is the front section of Boeing 747 Lope de Vega aircraft by Iberia. This aircraft carried the Picasso's masterpiece Gernika from New York to Spain when the Spanish democracy was well consolidated.
