Caring for our planet isn’t a bad idea

The earth shouldn't be the one suffering from humans because the earth has given us nothing but everything we wanted, starting from shelter, food, clothes, work, water, etc. There is nothing Mother Earth doesn't provide for us so the best thing we could do for the earth back is to keep it clean.

Taking care of the earth is not until we go to the main road to sweep, but it could start from our homes because the mother earth is everywhere.

I always tell people that without the earth, there is nothing any one of us can do. For example: we live on earth, eat on earth, sleep on earth, and work on it as well, so that is why it is everyone's responsibility to keep their environment clean in order to participate in taking care of earth.

Last year, I was going to the market as usual to stock for someone that has paid for my service, on my way there I saw some ladies eating puff-puff and immediately after they finished eating they threw the puff-puff paper on the floor.

I moved closer then asked them to take the paper from the floor, one of them nearly beat me up because I asked them to take their trash, they didn't pick it and I wished I had the power to make them pay for their crimes.

I had forgotten that I was still in Nigeria and such a thing looked normal to us because if it were to be abroad they wouldn't dare throw dirt on the floor like that. Because it is a very serious offense over there unlike here in my country.

When I got to some part of the market where I wanted to buy pepper, I couldn't breathe because of how dirty everywhere was, so I asked the woman who wanted to sell pepper for me and she said the taskforce was not active enough and that is why everyone was throwing dirt in every corner of the market.

I couldn't buy the paper because someone shouldn't eat anything that comes from such a dirty place, I left the environment because I didn't want to get infected by any kind of disease, everyone was looking at me like a fool for reacting that way but I am sure they don't know how dangerous it is to eat any food that came from such place.

Every single day I always wish I knew anyone in the law enforcement office I wouldn't hesitate to call them so that they could make those people pay for destroying the environment so much like that.

I love cleaning and my husband doesn't like seeing dirt anywhere in our compound as well, though we don't live alone in the compound but to avoid anyone violating the rules of cleaning the environment we all pay someone to clean it for everyone.

Keeping the earth clean is not only to make the earth happy but to live a healthy and good life as well, because if anything should happen to the earth every living soul would get affected as well and that is why we must take good care of the earth.
