Social media vs reality

My mom always says, "Never judge anyone by their look," sometimes people are not what we really think they are so we can't assume based on what people put out there, more so, people will never put their dark part outside for others because they know some other people will judge them by it and nobody wants to be judged wrongly.

In life, we can't be certain about what people post on their profile, in fact, social media is a home of fake people. It is only on social media you will see rich people who are literally poor in reality, it is only on social media you will see married couples but in reality, they are separated, it is only on social media that people put their matters and end up in trouble because people will drag you up.

Some years back I had a friend who we worked together in a hotel but later she traveled and we lost contact, one day I saw her friend request on Facebook, and being the good friend that she was when she was around, so I quickly accepted the request and we start chatting on the Facebook messenger.

She always posted some expensive materials like cars, houses, and dresses on her profile. In fact, she doesn't post anyhow things including food, so I thought she was doing well in the country she went to which I never bothered to ask because I didn't want her to feel like I was jealous of her, but we never stop chatting. 6 months after I got a call very early in the morning, it was a strange number but I picked up and the person started yelling at me that I should find my friend wherever she ran to.

I asked him what happened and he explained that everything my friend always posted belonged to him and now she had run away with his money and I was the last person she spoke with on his phone and that was why he called to know her whereabouts.
I told him I was in Nigeria and I hadn't seen her for the past 8 years now, the guy wasn't convinced enough but he couldn't come down to Nigeria to see if I was telling the truth or not, while we were talking my husband took the phone from me and warn the guy never to call his wife again, that was how he stopped disturbing me over my friend's whereabouts.

Since that day I realized that most people flaunting wealth on social media are literally broke in real life, though some are real but most of them are fakes, I can't judge anyone by their social media profile because what most people put out on social media profile is not exactly what they are in real life.

I never heard from my friend since that day maybe she knew I had heard about her fake life, but it is her life and her profile so she has every right to post whatever she wants on it.

At this point if you believe what you see on the internet you’re really on your own because why would you even be believing someone wealth o social media so much that you even get pressured to do things you don’t want
People like that are really funny

Yes o anyone believing what he or she saw on social media is definitely risking their lives because most of those things are not real at all.

The social media is full of lies and who ever choose to always believe what's happening there will blame themselves in end.

Yeah that is absolutely right because most people there are not what people really think they are, social media is a home of lies.

There are so many things online that are fake. People will do anything for attention, and someone who's actually doing better will feel jealous of them.

Yeah you are absolutely right about that the real ones get jealous because of how fake one’s getting attention

Social media is a world of it's own, where people live the life they wish they had. I have seen a lot of cool people on social media who turned out to be the exact opposite of who they claim just like that your friend. It's just a shame that we no longer know what is real anymore

Am telling you we don’t know who is real or fake on social media anymore, because 99% of people online are fake
