A successful activity FANTASY LEAGUE came to an end
Fantasy league, the fun activity at work which started on 17th Oct of last month came to an end on 13th Nov with the final of Cricket World Cup T20 which emerge England is the new champion of T20 cricket world. No doubt the whole month past with so much fun and having many interesting moments. Staff was completely involved in this activity and hats off to the marketing manager who very brilliantly handled the scorecard with the help of Finance head and few other colleagues.
From the starting, I was below rank 20. Most of my players were not performing well and couple of players were not included in the playing XI, still this doesn’t matter to me as I was pointing top 10 and was busy in taunting others. I was not alone in it, many others were doing the same and we spend whole day in such calculation and playing blame games, especially with the event organizer, our marketing manager. The finniest part is he was leading the leaderboard and he even don’t know much about cricket, that is what we call luck is all about. His players were performing. I asked him did you watch a single complete match of cricket yet, he said no and that evil smile of his was just awesome which says still I am ahead of you all crazy fans of cricket.
CWC T20 was held in Australia and due to the time difference, all of the matches were at daytime here so, we all were busy watching those matches half a day at work. Even, our CEO knew it but didn’t say anything as we were doing our daily work on time and perfectly. Another fun part is we watched those matches which we never even think about just because our players were playing in. Ups and downs in leaderboard were thoroughly discussed on daily basis as if it is a part of our job LOL
In between of the tournament, a twist was created and under some terms and condition along with little fee, people can change their couple of players just before the semifinals. This was not much appreciated by most of the people however, six of us took this opportunity and changed their teams. Most of them replaced Pakistani players as their chances were very low to reach the semifinals but guess what? Shockingly and surprisingly, Pakistan qualified for semifinals and also reached finals. Now, this is the time to tease those who paid and replaced players which turned out to be the wrong decision for them. Till semifinals, Mr. Hasan, the marketing manager was on top but final game changed his position from 1st to fourth. OMG! Not a single person missed this chance to talk to him about it.
“It had been a very electrifying T20 World Cup, and what was most amazing is that the our participants were excited to watch nearly every match of this tournament, not limited to only Pakistan. Unfortunately, even though Pakistan came from the bottom of the table to the finals they were unable to bring the CUP home. But at PentaExpress the cup is coming home!” Message by Mr. Hasan on 16th Nov in the award ceremony of fantasy League.

Winners were handed over the trophies, certificates and prize money by our CEO, who also really enjoyed the whole tournament and the fantasy league. He clearly mentioned in his speech that such activities should take place more often and the fun should go on at work along with error free work and perfection. He was happy with the progress of the company and the employees. Cheers!!!
I like it when there are such fun activities organized at workplaces. It's a great way to bring people together, like a team building, even though here you were competing against each other. Nice!
absolutely, this gives us the opportunity to get to know each other well specially the new staff and inter department people. Fun at work activities are always awesome and employees get refreshed and a good environment at work is formed. Such steps needs to be taken more often in order to have a better atmosphere at workplace.

Most fantasy leagues, I've noticed, have winners who had no idea what they were doing. They didn't take it seriously, but did it just for the fun of it. Those who take it seriously don't typically do as well, because it isn't as fun to them. They are out to try to prove something with their "knowledge."
hahaha you are somewhat right on that statement, I am a big fan on Cricket but was not aware of current players stats and their performances. But there were people who did a real dig on the stats and analysis in order to choose the bestest team but still they were below 10. Overall, it was a nice fun activity at work and we really enjoyed pulling each others leg on the basis of selected players and their performances.
