Dinner Party at Namak Mandi Shinwari Rawalpindi

Last week, I was in Islamabad and I have been telling this in all of my recent posts. In fact, all my recent posts are related to this trip. It was a wonderful trip and I really enjoyed a lot. It Is impossible that I travelled so much and didn’t have any food party. Well,, you can say I was lucky to be there on time as the very next day after I reach there, they had a plan to eat outside.

Being a foodie, I was very excited to encounter some new dishes and restaurant, always looking for some new taste. There is a big difference in taste within Pakistan as people make according to their traditions and have own way of making the same dish with different spices. It is always interesting to see what we are going to experience next.

We were 17 people and managed to get in 2 cars and headed towards the restaurant. The food court was like 25 km away from our home, quit a distance. It was a weekday but still the place was over crowded. Its just behind Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Lots and lots of popular restaurants in a row. We parked our cars at Namak Mandi Shinwari Restaurant, a very popular and well-known name for their taste.

A traditional way to sit on the Takhat, a wooden dining table, with pillows. Nice way to get relaxed and have dinner. Order was given by one of our friend who used to be here several times and knows what to order the best. Raita, the creamy spiced yogurt, with salad was first served which was really nice.

It was the first time I experienced the taste of liver with fat topping. I think its name was Patta Tikka, it’s a dish from Peshawar and Afghanistan. It was amazing, my mouth watering while thinking about it. I ate the whole plate of it, so delicious. Just dipping it in the Raita and having it all alone with bread.

Then the Mutton Karahi was wonderfully prepared, as I said, it was totally different with what we have in Karachi. It was looking redish but was not that much spicy as it looks. Pure Namkeen Karahi as it is called in Peshawar. The meat was really soft and easy to chew, this is the reason one can eat a lot without having any teeth issues lol

Party was amazing and I really had enough of those liver and Mutton, taste is unforgettable.
