Exploring the Beauty of Balochistan in 2020

I would say more than half of my posts are related to my eldest bro and the reason is I get along with him well and he likes my company very much hehehe Once again I am here to share our one day trip to the coastal area of Balochistan, province located in the southwestern region of Pakistan. We used to visit Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, in our childhood because our uncles were living there but I never had a chance to visit beach sites and mountains of this province until 2020. My Eldest bro was in Pakistan and he planned to explore the beauty of southwestern coastal region. Mr. Shaukat, with whom my eldest bro love to travel, was booked once again and one of his friend was also accompanied to take the pictures, he is a professional photographer. We were four and on early morning of 18th Feb 2020, we started our journey.

We had our first stop at zero point, where we saw the replica of Princess of Hope and had a nice breakfast at zero point restaurant. The weather was looking good at that time but slowly, it turned out to be hot later on.

We get on the route of Makran Coastal Highway, it was looking a bit scary. Not much populated, not many people around but yes, it was safe and secure because we have too many Army check posts around, checking on the travelers and avoiding any unnecessary travelers to enter this area. The view of those Rocky Mountains was amazing along with the coastal area. It was something new for me. I knew it was going to be an adventurous trip. My bro was busy in taking pictures and capturing the sceneries. After couple of hours, we reached Kund Malir beach.

We had a long walk on the beach, exploring species of the sea. Taking their pictures and roaming around. It was too hot at that time and there were no huts, nothing to hide in. Also there were no visitors, just four of us were walking on the beach. No doubt, the views were amazing and the sea was looking nice, behind there were mountains. But all this is getting weird just because of the hot sunshine which was hurting our skins. The plan was just to visit this place and get back home but it got changed because this place was not enough for my eldest bro and he wants to explore more ahead.

Mr. Shaukat, who was also a guide to this place, told us that Princess of Hope is just half an hour away. It is a famous landmark and very attractive touristic place. We headed to this place. The road was amazingly curvy as it was made through the mountains, ups and downs, a nice roller coaster ride to Princess of Hope. Parked the car and he took us into the mountains. I just love this adventure, thinking of Hills have Eyes movie and some other this type of movies where there are other types of people living. I forgot to take my cell phone there. Mr. Shaukat, I don’t know how, climbed up to the mountain to see the Princess of Hope just infront of him. He shouted and asked us to climb too but we were not interested to take this much of risk hehehe. We enjoyed from the ground. We spent a good bit of time there exploring caves and other rock formations. This is so beautiful, its all pure and natural beauty, nothing man-made. Princess of Hope is naturally formed and was noticed that it shows the image of a woman standing facing up. There are lots and lots of such type of formations and statues which resembles many of the things. My bro saw a sphinx as well.

Now, the plan extended further and Mr. Shaukat convinced all of us for Ormara, saying that it’s a white sand beach. Its just one and a half hour of drive away. On the way, we found some amazing mountains, seriously, unique shapes of mountains, never seen such before. What a wonderful view, we stopped the car and took some pictures. As you can see in the picture, it was way more beautiful when we were looking at it in real.

Finally, we reached Ormara beach and there we saw some people and restaurants. On one side, it was all Army area and on the other side, the road going towards Gwadar. Basically, it is half way between Karachi and Gwadar. We made a lot of fun of Mr. Shaukat for white sand because it was nothing like that. It was just a normal beach but the sand was a bit different, not white. This place looks good for night camping but in daytime, very difficult to stand there. We all were hungry so we had lunch there in one of the restaurants. It was a nice decent lunch, can’t say outstanding neither too bad. Just ok because it fulfills the need and hunger. Now, Mr. Shaukat was busy convincing for Gwadar but we all were too tired to go further and decided to return as it will take more than 5 hours to return back home. This was enough for a day trip and we did enjoyed a lot and had a lot of fun together. One of the memorable trips and one of the rarest places to visit.

Do you think it is over? No, it was not, on our way back, my bro asked about HINGLAJ MATA MANDIR, a famous Hindu Temple located in the caves, it’s a society of Hindus, but not very easy to reach there. The route is very difficult to find on Google Maps and the way to the temple is broken and not in good situation. However, Mr. Shaukat agreed to take us all to that temple and on the other hand, asked all of us to pray that we reach and return before sunset because it will be hard to find our way back from those mountain and cavy area. Looking at the map and asking few people on the way, finally, we reached to the temples. It was for one of his friend who is not anymore with us in this world, he took a traditional wide scarf for his family and then we finally left those mountains for our homes.

It was a wonderful trip and one more thing to add here, this is the time when Covid spread all over Pakistan. Just after my Bro went back to Sweden after having so many memorable trips, Covid was full on and restrictions were applied in travelling. We were lucky to witness this beauty at the right time. Below video links from the page of My Bro, wonderfully captured the moments.....

It's really a beautiful view of the hills in the desert there, even though they look plain, they have a unique shape that makes the hills interesting

this was a unique experience and most importantly, there were not much people, just few locals and that too riding on the camels. Talking about the hills, they were amazing.
Thanks for stopping by :)
