It’s Yakhni Time in Karachi

Karachi, one of the busiest cities in the world, mostly have hot season all over the year. Just couple of cold months and Karachites start shivering. Every year we used to hear the same words, it is colder than last year. I could be wrong but yes, this year, I really felt that the weather changed a lot. It is too cold this time. But it doesn’t last long, just in couple of days, Sun comes to rescue us with his hot rays and warm sunshine.

With warm cloths out of the trunks/suitcases, it’s time to wear stylish jackets, hoodies, sweaters, uppers. Karachites are foodies too, it’s the best time to have seafood. Along with all that, the most important thing in this cold weather which cannot be missed is Yakhni (broth/soup). Two to three months is the season of soups. I am not talking about the lavish soups in restaurants. This is something local made with special ingredients and taste.

Different people have different taste, so, there are many spots and some of them are very famous area wise. I am sharing these pictures taken through my cell phone Moto E4, last week, I had this yakhni and corn soup with one of my friend at my place, I liked their Yakhni and corn soup both, but this day Yakhni was not upto the mark. They have sitting arrangements as well but most of the shops don’t have chairs and tables but still it is crowded till late night.

It can be customized according to your taste buds, some like it spicy, some like it simple, many people want boiled egg slices in it, hard bread and Papri (crisp fried dough wafer) is also used to make it more sensational. They never disappoint you, service at its best.

It is not that expensive either, it’s too reasonable for normal people. That is also the reason behind too much of crowd, people can afford it and enjoy with family too. It was so cold that I got busy in having soup and forgot to take pictures, later when we were leaving, I took some to share in Hive. Cheers!!!
