My Frightening situations

What is fear? It’s an emotion or feeling caused due to some threat or danger. It affects the minds and body of a person in a strange way and sometimes, very harmful if not controlled. We all have experienced it but each person may have experienced it differently. In my opinion, fear cannot be controlled or one cannot overcome his fears just like that, it can only be diverted for the meantime. The positive impact of fear is that one gets vigilant and careful in doing those things which could be harmful or dangerous.

Since childhood, I have many fears and some of them have changed into phobias. But as time passes by, I have overcome many of them but life is tough and fears keep on changing. Fear of failure pushed me to give best in studies, fear of my Mother’s slap kept me away from bad deeds and there were many things which I was scared of but all of them turned me into a good person.

A person is fearless only when he do not have anything to lose and do not have any responsibilities. For example, in my first job, I had an incident where I had exchange of harsh words with a girl in company’s van on our way back to home. She used inappropriate language whereas I was not using the right tune only. Next day, she complained and I was suspended for a day. I was scared at first but my family told me that if you didn’t do anything wrong then don’t get scared. I was not scared of losing a job but scared of losing my reputation as I used to be very nice and polite person on the floor. Later, Officials called me to their office and asked me to share the details of the incident where I refused to share any and said why I was suspended without having my concern over it. Fear of getting fired was flipped away as now, it was about the right and wrong. It is a common thing that people do believe whatever a girl says but I was shocked to see the response of other colleagues who didn’t believe in her and said we know Fawad, he cannot do such thing. Luckily, van driver jumped into it and visits officials to share complete story where I was asking her politely to turn the music off but she created something out of context with my words and starting arguing with me. Finally, I won the case and other colleagues congratulated me on this historic win because it never happened that on a girl’s complain, girl gets warning letter. That day I realized that fear of losing a job or insecurity is useless if you are doing your work honestly and properly without any bad intention.

Recently, due to current condition in our city where street crime is increasing on daily basis, we do have fear of losing our valuables. Also its peak time of inflation, so getting robbed could cause a real trouble for the whole month. I just overcome this fear couple of weeks ago when I dropped my cell phone on my way, I was on a bike and my mobile slipped away from my pocket but didn’t noticed at that time. When I reached my destination and checked my pocket, my cell phone was missing. So, things which have to go anyway cannot be stopped, one should always be grateful for the things which are in hand and mainly of his life. Valuable things lost or snatched can be replaced but life cannot. You won’t get another chance so better to hand over things to robbers rather than battling with them in order to make the situation worst. In Jan of this year, I was busy in distributing sweets to my relatives on the birth of my second son. Late night, I went to ATM machine to get some cash out. I was having 2 cell phones and an expensive power bank and around $100 cash which is a lot for me. Suddenly, a man with a gun shouted and asked me to give him everything, he was hiding beside a wall. I was shocked and cannot describe my feelings. Scary moment, fear of losing everything in a minute. I didn’t have much time to think so immediately reacted on the situation, putting hands together and started crying by saying I am a poor guy and don’t have much, for God sake leave me alone. OMG! that was a splendid performance from me but it was so natural that man with a gun screamed and asked me to run away quickly. I gathered up myself as it as unexpected and asked sorry, what you said? I thought he would beat me from behind to take advantage but he again replied, just go away. Aaaaahh I was so happy that I saved my cash and cell phones. It is hard to believe and people said he could be unprofessional that is why he left you but it doesn’t matter, what matters is I just saved myself and my valuables. This fear is almost in everyone of us while travelling with some heavy cash or expensive mobiles.

There is a lot to share on this topic of fear which would be endless so that is it from my side. Cheers!!!

Hehe... You were able to do some quick thinking, in spite of the fear you were feeling. That is very good indeed, and it worked in your favor.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

@bruno-kema quick thinking of losing money and cell phones, emotions came out naturally to spare me as I am a poor guy who cannot afford to lose anything. Yeah, it worked for me but I don't think this will work on regular basis that is why my family asked me not to talk much with robbers and do as said in order to avoid worst scenarios.
