My Iftar Platter this Ramadan

We are in the holy month of Ramadan and every one of us trying their level best to improve ourselves to be good and make our lives much better in every aspect of life. The main focus of majority of people tends towards fasting which is to stop eating and drinking from dawn till dusk but there is a lot other things which we need to focus and maintain in order to make our Ramadan successful. Well, people knows better but still it is not easy to get rid of those unnecessary habits lol

My focus in Ramadan is on Iftari, the time when we break fast and start eating like we are not going to get anything sooner. It is so funny feeling, the time we all sit and wait for Adhan, thinking that we will eat this and that and blah blah and then after Adhan, a date and a glass of water fills the whole stomach. The desire of this and that slowly fades out and we feel happy with that little bit of eating. But then, after couple of hours, the stomach start screaming to get something in. This Ramadan, I just had Iftari and nothing for Dinner. Although my Family used to have dinner later on, like 3 hours after Iftari but I avoid it. I had enough in Iftari and that is enough for me.

Real Iftar is with family only and I had my last Iftari with Family on 27th March. Next day, they left for Islamabad and then its me and my bro. I am missing that Iftari and want to share with you guys what I am missing. Pakora is the soul of Iftari. If there is no Pakora, then Iftari is incomplete hehehe

Pakora is made of chickpea flour mixed with various ingredients. Everyone has their own taste so it is not the same everywhere. I usually like it with onions and green chilies only. Then we have Aalu Pakora means Potato one. Potato is dipped in chickpea flour paste and then deep fried. Next favorite item is Aalu Banda, it’s a potato ball covered with chickpea flour. I eat too many of those and I really liked it, specially the one made by my Sister in Law. Next is French Fries, it’s the favorite for our Kids. Me and my Bro likes them a lot too. Ketchup is must with all of these items. If no ketchup then my mood goes off.

Rooh Afza or Jame Sheeren, these are the drinks famous in Pakistan. Red colored drink, gives a refreshing feeling at the time of Iftari. This too is the main essence of Iftari. My Father used to prepare this drink for all of us. Papad or Papadum, this snack is too loved by many and is often consumed with Tea. These are different in shapes and colors and kids love these shapes and colors a lot. This too is the part of our Iftari. All of these items are part of my Iftari Platter. After this platter, I don’t eat anything and then have Sehri next morning. Most of my friends do not believe this but it is true, I do control and eat less in this month which directly affect my weight. I am missing my Family and this Iftari a lot.
Happy Ramadan to you all!!!!!

All above pictures are taken by me through my cell phone Oppo A7.
