Saturday Night Snooker
Weekend: This word is amazing, very powerful and meaningful word. Everyone of us knows the importance of this word in our lives. We would not be alive if this word would have not existed LOL.
Such a calm and relax feeling to know that tomorrow is weekend. I always start planning pluning at work on Fridays. Although, I have half day at work on Saturdays but it is not counted as the mood and attire on Saturdays is totally different. You can say it is the part of weekend to enjoy and chill at work.
Most important is Saturday night which needs to be utilized properly or else you will regret whole week ahead. Honestly, whenever I planned for Saturday nights, mostly it never happened that way but I didn’t stopped my planning pluning.
Back to the title, I have a friend group of five from my last company where we all used to work. Now, we all are in different industries and having different nature of work but that doesn’t matter, what matters is the comfort and relax we feel when meeting each other. I am in this group for like last five years and we mostly meet up on Saturday nights.
I would like to share one of the superb night we had in last week of June. It was all messed up at my place, roads were broken, shortage of water and electricity plus gas load shedding. I was so disturbed due to all this. Suddenly, my friend called and asked me to be ready within 30 mins, he is coming to pick me up. I was not in a good mood so refused at first but then agreed when he insisted.
On the way, he told me about the plan which is to play snooker and if gets time will play cards till early morning. We all six met at Snooker club which was like 15 km from my place. Usually, weekends are busy & pre-booked and is not easy to get the table but luckily, we got 2 tables in the separate room.
Best part: I don’t play snooker. Yes, you heard it right. I just act as an audience but mostly, I am the commentator. Pulling leg is my favorite art. Rest are not professional either however, they all play to enjoy and practice to be professionals someday.
It is not that I don’t play so I don’t have fun. Watching them play and pointing out their mistakes is what I am best at. A single mistake from anyone of them and we take it to next level. Makes fun of that guy and tease him a lot. Sometimes it backlash and turns into a healthy argument. After all, we are mature enough to handle such situations. If one of us is not in good mood then rest have to realize and act accordingly.
It was a good time at snooker club as they played for almost 3.5 hours. Now, it’s time for some food shood. We went to nearby roadside restaurant (Dhaba). In Pakistan, we call them chai ka hotel or chai wala i.e. tea seller or tea stall. Grab the chairs and asked to have Paratha with Cholay at earliest as we all are starving. It was awesome having this kind of food at 3 am. Then had a cup of tea, a strong one which open up the eyes.
We had two hours of long discussion on current politics, useless and unnecessary in my opinion. No concrete solution none of us came to conclusion and no one was on the same page however, I was as usual poking others and dragging the weak points. It was more like a laughter night.
We didn’t get time to play cards so, planned to have it next time and also planned to have a BBQ party after Eid ul Adha. Let’s hope for the best!!!!!
