Under water at the Wedge in Newport Beach California

I didn't really notice this happening at first. I was always looking at the wave and the riders. Then after going home and editing thousands of photos I liked seeing people under water as the wave goes by. This is really the only spot clear enough, and big enough, and close enough, to the shore for me to get shots like this. I haven't been able to get here for the last 4 years... it would be great if the price of hive went up... WAY up

The photographers have their arms up holding cameras. Bodysurfers and riders don't do that.

Surf photography from the water is one the most difficult shots imaginable. Technically and physically, and you need to know waves or you won't get anything but sand in your ears lol

here's a couple more showing the wave and set up

Those are amazing! I know you're sweltering down there in the cauldron, but those waves look really inviting. The color is so beautiful!

Hi, stranger! I've been off the grid for a while. It's good to be back, even if I'm just lurking, not posting.
